Ø Reducing agents for the future: BF5 and BF6 only coal, backup coke oven gas(injected) BFA coal, waste plastics and crude tar, backup natural gas
No heavy oil on any BF
Ø Injection capacities: 20 t coal/h at BF5 and 20 t coal/h at BF660 t coal/h at BFAthis means up to 180kg PCI/tHM
Ø easy coal logistics (supply, unloading,…) and synergy effects with the coke plantØ coal stock capacity for at least 15 daysØ high operational availability of the PCI-plantØ additional emissions (dust,...) have to be avoidedØ save rare space around the BFsØ No change of the burden and coke quality for the economic feasibility study

Ø flowmeters in series (adjusted):deviation between massflowmeters of +/- 5% was found
Ø The differences between thelances were in a range of +/- 8%on all three BFs
Ø Values up to 50% from literaturecan not be confirmed

Ø The project was done on schedule and within budget
Ø The commissioning took place without major problems on all BFsand the performance data were achieved
Ø So far we have no problems on the fine coal transport-lines over1.800m from the grinding to the injection plant near the BFs
Ø The used mass flow measurements aren’t reliable – further testswith new products will follow
Ø During the drying and grinding process coal mine gas is released –the additional installation of a waste gas treatment is necessary tofulfill the strict emission limits in Linz
