WELCOME to everyone, especially our guests.
Your presence is important to us.
St. Paul’s is an evangelical Christian
congregation, embracing historic Christian
teaching on all doctrines, centered on Jesus
Christ. Our desire is to bring the Gospel both
to those who are searching for answers to the
meaning of life and to those who desire a
closer relationship with God. We here at St.
Paul's have chosen to align ourselves with the
teachings of the Lutheran Reformation, due
to the clarity with which these help us to see
the true meaning of God's Word.
Specifically, St. Paul's is a ministry of the
Lutheran Church -- Missouri Synod, one of
America's truly biblical churches!
• Members and guests: please fill out an
attendance card and place it in the
offering plate to indicate your presence
today. For Holy Communion, please read
our confession and indicate your
agreement with our beliefs by checking
the box next to the names of those
communing.
• Those sharing our beliefs, especially from
parishes in fellowship with us, are
welcome to receive.
• If you desire Holy Communion but hold a
confession differing from that of this
congregation, please speak with a Pastor
or an Elder.
• Non-communing, baptized children are
welcome to come to the table for a
blessing.
Please note: Half the inner circle of individual
glasses in each tray contains water with one
drop of communion wine for those hesitant to
drink larger amounts of wine. Those glasses
with wine are rose in color. 2

TRAINING INDIGENOUS PASTORS AND DEACONESSES
$100,000
As Christians our challenge is to reach out with the Gospel to those near us and around the
world. In many countries, the most effective leaders and teachers are native to their
culture. The ability to understand spoken and unspoken cultural guidelines gives these
leaders an advantage a “visitor” can never match. Concordia, Ft. Wayne has trained more
than 100 men from other countries who will return home to teach and lead their people. The
Lutheran Theological Seminary, Pretoria, South Africa is training deaconesses to share
their faith with women. This grant provides scholarship support for continuing the Gospel
message.

any way at the bazaar or helping in the clean-up--all was greatly appreciated. You are all a
blessing from God and we are very thankful for all of you! The bazaar again was very
successful and we couldn’t have done it without God and everyone by our side. A majority of
the money raised by the Ladies Aid goes back into helping St. Paul’s Church or School.

and respect. All material that is shared will be returned after it has been copied, so feel free to
share what you may have. At this time, I would like to request Confirmation Class pictures.

PULL TOGETHER!
“Pull Together for the Ronald McDonald
House”, sponsored by the Ronald McDonald
House Charities of Eastern Wisc. Inc., is a
program designed to fundraise monies to help
support the Ronald McDonald House.
Ronald McDonald House is a “home away from home” for families of
seriously ill or injured children. Since the doors opened in 1984,
more than 34,000 families have called the Ronald McDonald House
in Milwaukee home. On average, over 1,000 families have been
served each year.
It’s easy to participate in tab collection here at St. Paul’s as a way
to offer support to this worthy cause. Simply save up your pull tabs
and bring them to church/school. Each school homeroom has a
canister where these pull tabs may be placed. The other option is
to put them on the collection table just outside the kitchen door.
This collection is on-going, so do what you can to
get everyone collecting!

25TH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST
14 November 9th & 10th, 2013
Exodus 3:1–15 (ESV) Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-
law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock
to the west side of the wilderness and came to
Horeb, the mountain of God. And the angel of the
LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the
midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush
was burning, yet it was not consumed. And Moses
said, “I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the
bush is not burned.” When the LORD saw that he
turned aside to see, God called to him out of the
bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”
Then he said, “Do not come near; take your sandals
off your feet, for the place on which you are
standing is holy ground.” And he said, “I am the God
of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of
Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face,
for he was afraid to look at God. Then the LORD said,
“I have surely seen the affliction of my people who
are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of
their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, and I have
come down to deliver them out of the hand of the
Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a
good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and
honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites,
the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the
Jebusites. And now, behold, the cry of the people of
Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the
oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.
Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring
my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” But
Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to
Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of
Egypt?” He said, “But I will be with you, and this
shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when
you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall
serve God on this mountain.” Then Moses said to
God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to
them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’
and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I
say to them?” God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.”
And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘I AM
has sent me to you.’” God also said to Moses, “Say
this to the people of Israel, ‘The LORD, the God of
your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac,
and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is
my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered
throughout all generations.”
2 Thessalonians 2:1–8, 13–17 (ESV) Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ
and our being gathered together to him, we ask you,
brothers, not to be quickly shaken in mind or
alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a
letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the
day of the Lord has come. Let no one deceive you in
any way. For that day will not come, unless the
rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is
revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and
exalts himself against every so-called god or object
of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of
God, proclaiming himself to be God. Do you not
remember that when I was still with you I told you
these things? And you know what is restraining him
now so that he may be revealed in his time. For the
mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he
who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the
way. And then the lawless one will be revealed,
whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his
mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his
coming. But we ought always to give thanks to God
for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God
chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through
sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. To
this he called you through our gospel, so that you
may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So
then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions
that you were taught by us, either by our spoken
word or by our letter. Now may our Lord Jesus
Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and
gave us eternal comfort and good hope through
grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in
every good work and word.
St. Luke 20:27–40 (ESV) There came to [Jesus] some Sadducees, those who
deny that there is a resurrection, and they asked him
a question, saying, “Teacher, Moses wrote for us that
if a man’s brother dies, having a wife but no children,
the man must take the widow and raise up offspring
for his brother. Now there were seven brothers. The
first took a wife, and died without children. And the
second and the third took her, and likewise all seven
left no children and died. Afterward the woman also
died. In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife will
the woman be? For the seven had her as wife.” And
Jesus said to them, “The sons of this age marry and
are given in marriage, but those who are considered
worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection
from the dead neither marry nor are given in
marriage, for they cannot die anymore, because they
are equal to angels and are sons of God, being sons
of the resurrection. But that the dead are raised,
even Moses showed, in the passage about the bush,
where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham and the
God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. Now he is not
God of the dead, but of the living, for all live to him.”
Then some of the scribes answered, “Teacher, you
have spoken well.” For they no longer dared to ask
him any question.
