My Brother Knights and their families: I would like to thank all those who participated in our Council Blood Drive on April 25, our Day of Service at Camilla Hall on April 28, and the Nuns’ Dinner at the Council Hall on April 29. Thanks to your help, all three events were great successes! With the end of the current fraternal year approaching, we will soon be planning our programs and projects for next year. RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE Our blood drive, held on April 25, 2018, yielded 26 pints of blood. Thanks to all who donated, including members of Mater Dei Council Jim Kraus, Steve and Andrea Giacomucci, and Regina and Jim Farrell . Special thanks to Anne Ghosh, who previously donated 112 pints but is now unable to donate. Please consider donating blood unless you are unable due to health issues. There is no substitute for human blood. Donating blood is an excellent way to be of service to your

neighbors. As knights, we need to care for our neighbors in many different charitable ways.

Bosses versus workers

When I take a long time, I am slow. When my boss takes a long time, he is thorough. When I don’t do it, I am lazy. When my boss doesn’t do it, he’s too busy. When I do it without being told, I’m trying to be smart. When my boss does the same, that is initiative. When I please my boss, that’s brown-nosing. When my boss pleases his boss, that’s co-operating. When I do good, my boss never remembers. When I do wrong, he never forgets.

Do you enjoy receiving The Observer every month? • The Observer keeps you informed of current events going on with our Council. • The Observer informs you of any charitable acts that our Council has participated in. • You can find out when fun events are being held (for example, did you go to see The Greaseband? !!!). • You can see pictures of yourself and friends and family at our special events! • You can find out what time your meeting is being held, and on what day. • If you have a family event — birthday, graduation, anniversary — you can see it celebrated in The Observer.

Over the years we have lost many advertisers, and so we have lost much of our revenue.

Also, our printing costs for The Observer have gone up, since we have had to change printers (Minute Man Press gave us a very good deal, but it has gone out of business).
