COMMUNION SUNDAY — MAY 18, 2014
The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be observed this
Sunday, May 18, during both worship services. This is one of
the most significant events in our church life and we encourage you to take time this week and ask God to search your heart in
preparation for communion. Anyone needing prayer is invited to
join the pastors and elders immediately following the worship
service.

recognize your accomplishments! Please email or call the
church office with your student’s name, school he or she is graduating from, and plans after graduation. This is for all
high school and college grads. Please let me know as soon as
possible!

or call 803-345-0500.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 1. We will hold a reception
for all 2014 High School and College Graduates immediately following the 10:30 AM Worship Service in the Family Center. We
hope all graduates & their parents can join us!
NURSERY VOLUNTEERS BRUNCH
We love our nursery volunteers! All workers of children ages 4 and under are invited to a BRUNCH in your honor, this Sunday, May 18 from 8:30—9:00 AM in the fellowship hall. We will eat, and then discuss some very important safety issues. If you cannot be there, please let A ndr ea kno w A SA P.
FAITH PROMISE EVENTS May 18, & 25 Testimonies of how people have seen God supply their Faith Promise commitments, and an opportunity to turn in your cards. June 1 Faith Promise results announced.
Pray with us about what part God wants you to have in missions in our church. If you have a family, this is an exciting way to have the children get involved and begin to pray about world missions.
DAYBREAK CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTER
MISSION OPPORTUNITY HISKidZ children’s ministry is participating in a missions’ effort to
raise support for Daybreak Crisis Pregnancy Center in Columbia. Each family will have
the opportunity to sign out a baby bottle to take home and fill with donations for the
Center. You can take one per family, or one per child, whichever you
prefer. Please encourage your children to contribute to this by doing
special chores or jobs to earn money to help the babies. We will collect
the bottles June 15. Thank you for supporting us as we GO in the
community to serve others and share the love of Jesus.
Quiet CHS Students Testing at CPC
Chapin High School students will be in the church building for testing on May 15. If you will be in the building on these dates, please remember to be as quiet as possible.
Jesus calls us into a relation-
ship with Himself. We are not or-phans and we are not to live in
fear. We are to live in community
with the Triune God and with
other believers. We need to
personally COME to Him in prayer and worship and we need to
COME to Him with other believers
to praise and worship and GROW.
We need to be together. There is a
growing trend to stay at home on
Sundays and watch TV church services. It is convenient and easy
but it is not community.
This Sunday we celebrate the
Lord’s Supper. We will partake of bread and drink but also
spiritually interact with the living
Christ. I hope to see each of you
there. COME and worship! —Dan
“And Jesus said, "Come to the
water, stand by My side, I know
you are thirsty, you won't be
denied; I felt every teardrop
when in darkness you cried, and I strove to remind you that for
those tears I died."
“Do not let your heart be
troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.”
“I will not leave you as orphans;
I will come to you. After a little
while the world will no longer
see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live
also.”
“Peace I leave with you; My
peace I give to you; not as the
world gives do I give to you. Do
not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”
—John 14:1, 18, 27
