Leading associations and PCOs working in partnership with ESAE to deliver high level
contentPublished on : Thursday, May 7, 2015
Speakers from The International Association for Professional
Innovation Management, The Royal Society of Medicine and TFI
Group will join leaders from The European Society of Association
Executives (ESAE) to deliver content at the 2015 Association
Meetings Conference on Monday 6th July at the QEII Centre,
London.
The events theme Shaping Your Meetings for the Future
Educate, Connect and Inspire is suitable for both domestic and
international in-house planners and agency personnel working
with associations.
Topics include:
How to innovate on a budget: What can associations do to transform and update their events at low cost?
Meeting Planning as an evolving profession: Looking to the future of the PCO and the Association roles.
Crystal Balls & Toolkits Technology, Sponsorships and Destinations
Meeting Planning as an Evolving Function
Hybrid Membership Models & Powerful Agendas for Younger Generations
The event content, which has been created by Linda Pereira, Conference Chair and Executive Director, CPL
Events in partnership with the ESAE has been crafted to address the specific needs of UK and international
association meeting and event planners, PCOs and AMCs.
Once again Linda has created an engaging, challenging and thought provoking programme that will be of
significant benefit to all in attendance. Our partnership with the ESAE will be of particular interest to attendees
as it demonstrates the credibility of the Association Meetings Conference amongst association leaders from
across the continent. Comments Steve Knight, The Meetings Shows Event Director. Like The Meetings Show
itself, our conference sits at the heart of the global meetings industry meaning that it also provides a unique
opportunity for domestic association professionals to network and engage with their international counterparts.
Chris Raudonat, ESAE Director and Independent Management Consultant will be presenting a workshop titled
Hybrid Membership Models & Powerful agendas for younger generations. He comments: In a world of free
online communities and multiple careers, prospective younger members are getting more selective about how
they interact with associations, face-to-face and during events. They expect to be able to determine the value
that joining both as a member and a delegate will provide. While many associations are still keeping
traditional fee-based models, others are switching to freemium or hybrid approaches to attract new and
different members and integrate these in their meetings strategies. This workshop will address changes in
memberships and how these influence and inspire new models of holding events.

Home News Shows Manchester to draw on citys intellectual capital at The Meetings Show
Category: Show Created on Thursday, 14 May 2015 16:15
Marketing Manchester will take a new message to The Meeting Show in July, using the event as a platform to talk up
the citys intellectual credentials.
Carrying the new strapline that Great minds meet in Manchester; the team will draw attention to the citys rich history
as a place of ideas and innovation, particularly within scientific fields.
The message aims to build on Manchesters current tenure as European City of Science ahead of next years EuroScience
Open Forum (ESOF) which will see 4,500 delegates visit Manchester for Europes largest general scientific conference.
It is also a subtle reference to Greater Manchesters ability to nurture great achievers such as the University of Manchesters 25 Nobel laureates and household names
including John Dalton, Alan Turing and Emmeline Pankhurst who all have strong connections to the city.
Manchester Central, Bolton Whites and Emirates Old Trafford have been confirmed as stand partners alongside Marketing Manchester at The Meeting Show and the
contingent will be working together to secure new conference business for the region.
Nick Brooks-Sykes, director of tourism at Marketing Manchester, said: Whilst Greater Manchester enjoys its moment in the spotlight as a cultural destination with the newly
opened Whitworth, HOME and Manchester International Festival making headlines we want to remind conference organisers why Manchester is the obvious choice for
intelligent, knowledge rich meetings.
Historically Manchester is the city where Marx met Engels, where Rolls met Royce and where, more recently, Sir Andre Geim and Sir Konstantin Novoselov united to
discover graphene. It is home to a unique infrastructure and set of networks that relish in bringing people together to discuss and collaborate and thats the message we want
to get across at The Meeting Show this year.
Alongside ESOF, 2016 will see Manchester host number of high-profile global scientific conferences including the 17th Quadrennial International Conference on Clouds &
Precipitation, the 24th Biennial Congress of the European Association for Cancer Research and the XXIV International Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry.
The Manchester contingent will be on stand D16 at The Meetings Show.

Soaring Worldwide has won a new business contract with global

Soaring Worldwides knowledge of the industry make this an

have a good reputation and they have a good track record with many major players within the industry but their
focus on how to deliver results for Grass Roots really shone in our initial discussions. We are looking forward to
working alongside the Soaring Worldwide team over the forthcoming year.
The strategic communications and PR agency, based in Cirencester, work with several major clients within the
meetings and events industry such as The Meetings Show and Meet Gateway South Wales.
Its an exciting time as we begin work with Grass Roots and another sign of continued growth for us as a

strong reputation within the meetings and events industry for our work with clients such as the Barbican and
