COOPER AGE
Megalithic
• Large stone constructions.
• There are remains all over the Iberian Peninsula.
• The tombs of Antequera is very significant.
COOPER AGE
Millares
• It takes its name from a village in Almería that had several walls and circular or oval dwellings.
• The inhabitants grew cereals and raised livestock. They made copper tools (axes, daggers) and jewellery (necklaces, bracelets, amulets).
• Near the village there was a necropolis or cemetery with collective tombs, which often had access corridor and circular chamber.
LOS MILLARES, ALMERÍA
COOPER AGE
Bell Beaker
• They made bell-shaped ceramics decorated with geometric designs.
• There are remains in the centre and periphery of the peninsula.

BRONZE AGE
El Argar
• Settlements were in areas that could be easily defended.
• The people buried their dead in the floors of dwellings or individual burial sites, in large vessels that sometimes contained the dead person´s possessions.
• They made objects of bronze (knives, swords, etc.). They also made dark ceramic with no decoration.

Talaiotic
• This culture existed on the Balearic islands.
• Typical constructions are:
o Taula, two flat stones in the shape of a table.
o Naveta, with the shape of an upturned boat.
o Talaiot, a circular or elliptical stone tower.

Tartessos
• The name refers to both the kingdom and the culture.
• The people made jewellery and traded with other cultures.
• They settled in the south-west.
IRON AGE
Iberians and Celts
• Levante and Andalucía were inhabited by the Iberians.
• In the north of the peninsula, the inhabitants mixed with the Celts.
