TRANSCRIPT

  • THE MIDDLETONIAN

  • Published by the SENIOR CLASS

    NORTH MIDDLETOWN HIGH SCHOOL

    North Middletown, Kentucky

Co-Editors JO ANN SPARKS and LA VONDA GILLISPIE

  • "When first we came to thee we knew so little Of life, and what it holds for those who seek To find their place within our scheme of living To grow to manhood strong and brave, yet meek, We were so young; we had no way of knowing The opponunities that lay ahead, But you, you took our hand and led us, showing The distant fields that would be ours to tread And so we take our leave, but at our going Oh! May we life o_ur grateful eyes to thee, To voice a prayer that in us may keep growing A loyalty that all the world may see. "

    ----I. T. G. ----

    MR. I. T. GENTRY, Principal

  • Down through the years your contributions to the culture and dignity of our Community have been legion. No Teacher can ever expect a greater reward for her services than to see in the lives of those with whom she has worked, an over-all enrichment that has been fostered by her labors. Your willingness to do your part in Community and school enterprises, your cheerful outlook on life in general, and your totally unselfish attitude toward others is a daily inspira-tion to each of us. Because of all these things, and because we love you, grate-fully we dedicate this issue of the MIDDLETONIAN TO "MISS JO. "

  • Mrs. Willis: "I'm sorry but I can't serve on the Committee. You know how 1 HATE to

    serve on a committee. "

Mrs. Prather: You're awfully nice to ask me for a date, but 1 never did like men.

Mr. Denny: 1 can say without danger of contradiction that this has been ONE year the

Glee Club never missed a rehearsal.

Mrs. Young: "1 just love TEACHERS' PARTIES when we can all get together and have a

    rollicking good time. "

Mrs. Pumphrey: Mr. Gentry, isn't there some way you can tell me how to put a little life in my classes? It's so quiet 1 can hardly stand it. Ya see what 1 mean?:.

Mrs. Cross: "Martin is So nice about helping me with Steve."

Mr. Cross: "Mr. Gentry, if there are any little extra chores you can give me to do around the building 1 would certainly appreciate it."

Mr. Gentry: "1 just can't understand why more people aren't interested in being a Prin-cipal. The work is pleasant, lucrative, and the only problems you have to wrestle with

    are your own.

Mrs. Virrden: "1 just can't understand why Teachers want to have RECESS. This is the-ninth consecutive year 1 have taught and I have had an average of less than one recess

    period per week. "

Mr. Bridges: "1 wonder if it would be possible for the Teachers to be allowed to come to school a little earlier than at present. I am dressed and ready by seven o'clock every morning and can hardly wait to go across the road. "

Miss Sudie: "1 don't know why ANYBODY would waste their time with reedwork, bird study, etc., when there are so many more fascinating things to do at school."

Miss Henry: "Mr. Gentry, please promise me that 1 can be shifted to a higher grade next year so that 1 may not lose contact with Jeffry."

Miss Gillispie: "I'm not the least bit interested in getting wed. Teaching is much more intriguing. "

Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors AND Seniors: '1 wasn't do in' nuthin. "

    To the Seniors:

Incline your hands to honest work, your mind to clear thinking, your heart to a true faith in God.

Plant firmly your feet, tread carefully lest you stumble and fall and the world falls with you.
