THE MODERN BOLD LIP

The Newest Shades of the Dramatic Look

Out with the old and in with the new! The bold lip was back on the runways this

past season but with a whole new range of colors for Spring! The classic red and

bubblegum pink lips stepped aside for Electric Violet and Poppy. Dark lips moved

into spring with shades of Midnight Purple and Oxblood. And the newest color

spotted on the runways for spring, Mocha.

Now let's dive in and see how we can all

recreate these fresh new looks for

spring!

This macaroon inspired shade was spotted on the runways of Emilio de la Morena in

London and Manish Arora in Paris. This bright, shocking Electric Violet lip can be

achieved using MAC Heroine (MAC Cosmetics $17) or Yves Saint Laurent Rogue

Volupte Shine Lipstick in Fuchsia in Rage (Nordstrom $36).

Midnight Purple was the next shade spotted on the runways. This vampy look seen

on the runways at ZAC by Zac Posen and Burberry Prorsum lets us bring the dark

side over to Spring. You can achieve this dark as night look with Makeup For Ever

Rouge Artist Intense in #14 Pearly Dark Violet (Sephora $20) or with MAC Rebel

(MAC Cosmetics $17).

The next shade seen on the Spring 2016 runways was Mocha. This coffee inspired

hue has also been worn and popularized by Kylie Jenner. This look was seen on the

runways of Emporio Armani in Milan, Kenzo in Paris, and Phelan in New York. You

can replicate these coffee stained lips with Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution

lipstick in Birkin Brown (Nordstrom $32) or with Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick

in Sepia (Macys’ $20).

The classic red lip moves to the dark side and into the burgundy hue of Oxblood.

Popping up on the runways of Givenchy in New York, Emporio Armani in Milan, and

Burberry Prorsum in London, this shade gives an edge to any look. Try NARS Semi

Matte Lipstick in Scarlett Empress (NARS Cosmetics $27) or Urban Decay Revolution

lipstick in Shame (Ulta $22).

Tangerine, a spring staple, becomes sassier with the new shade Poppy! This floral

inspired hue was spotted on the runways of Dolce and Gabbana in Milan, Badgley

Mischka in New York, and Vivienne Westwood in Paris. To attain this bright

orangey- pink lip, try Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Spicy (Macys’ $20) or

NARS Audacious lipstick in Geraldine (NARS Cosmetics $32).
