Bespoke Design

FLEXISTAIR offer a full range of permanent or sacrificial balustrading, manufactured from mild steel to stainless steel, with various balustrade options such as toughened glass, structural glass and polyester powder coated perforated sheet.

Specification

The finish of stairs can be basic or advanced to suit any design requirements. External surfaces can simply be painted to provide a smooth background, ready for final decoration. FLEXISTAIR can provide polyester powder coated soffit panels with integral lighting. Alternatively, plasterboard or any other finish can be used.

FLEXISTAIR will assist in the design at the very initial stages, working with engineers/architects to provide a fully bespoke service, ensuring the final product suits your specification perfectly.

The FLEXISTAIR System

Once delivered to site the composite sections of flights/landings can be simply hoisted into position, leaving the final task of completing the rebar connections and pouring of the concrete.

FLEXISTAIR comes with the half landing and rebar fully installed as standard which speeds up the build programme and safety constraints. A temporary or permanent balustrade is included, dependent on individual project

requirements, which negates the cost of erecting temporary scaffold and provides operative protection from day one.

There are lifting points on each section of the stair. Simply connect a 4 leg chain, and hoist into position. FLEXISTAIR will provide a generic method statement and hoisting plan on request.

Advantages in using FLEXISTAIR

A key design advantage of the FLEXISTAIR system is the permanent galvanised steel shuttering, with no need to install timber shuttering or the need to strike once the concrete is cured, as opposed to traditional shuttering methods.

The FLEXISTAIR system is installed as the concrete frame progresses, enabling you to walk on the staircase the following day. The half landing is integral to this system, with no need to install shuttering or rebar, simply crane the unit into position.

A pre-attached balustrade (no leading edge at any point of installation) is included, this can be a sacrificial balustrade or permanent to suit the projects needs.

A typical level takes less than 1 day to install, just add final rebar connections and the concrete pour, and that’s one floor complete, no striking of shuttering, just back prop the half landing and the stair can be in full use the following day.

FLEXISTAIR is adaptable to suit design requirements, tailor-made for each project and is safe and easy to install.

Installation Procedure

From the engineers/architects drawings FLEXISTAIR will produce a detailed drawing for approval/comment.

Stairs will be manufactured to suit an agreed programme of works and delivered to site, ready for installation by your appointed site contractors.

Once construction has reached the point where the stairs are ready to be installed. A section of the stair can be hoisted into place, the rebar connected, the stairs lined and levelled. Then the concrete can be poured. The stairs will be ready to be walked on 24 hours later.
