Every parent desire is to

spend more time with

their children and to

know what happens in

their life. At the Nursery

Campus we have

programs that ensure to

include our parents in the

learning process of their

children, one of these is ‘A

Day in the life of my child’.

On this day our parents

spend the day with the

learners in class and get

immersed in the day’s

activities as is scheduled

in the timetable. Such an

event helps the parents

learn on the ways to

better support their

children’s learning and

development process.

The Reception classes

visited the Meteorological

Department along

Ngon’g road, and the

Kindergarten classes

visited the Village Market

to learn about sea

creatures. This helps to

reinforce what the children

have learned and give

them an oppotunity to

interact with the real world

in an educative yet fun

way.

In line with our Child

Protection policy, we

held a sexual abuse

workshop aime at our KG

and Reception Classes

dubbed “Good Touch

and Bad Touch”. The

children were taught

that their body belongs

to them and they have

a right to protect it. They

were taught how to

identify the ‘No Touch’

areas, understand

who are ‘Safe Adults’

and how to clearly

communicate with

parents about any bad

experience.

On 11th May 2019, the Oshwal fraternity was treated to a night of music and dance. The event which was held at the school auditorium from 6.00pm attracted many guests, among them parents, guardians, teachers and students. After rehearsing for several weeks, it was thrilling to watch young artists showcase their prowess in various categories. From

solo to group dances, duet to trio dances, mesh up to trio singing. It was also fulfilling to see young students honour their heritage through an African dance as well as a Garbo traditional dance.

Other talented students didn’t shy away from showing their skills in poem narration and playing musical instruments. Through the music and

dance event, our students are given a chance to bring out other activities they can do beyond the classroom walls. The money raised via the sale of tickets is used for charity and goes a long way in helping the needy in the society.

The science club patron with the co patron and committee members conducted annual science fair. There was over whelming response from students from junior and senior category. Altogether 106 students participated in today’s fair, presented 68 projects from 6 categories.

On Saturday, the school has invited a guest speaker to have interaction with parents of year 8 and 9 students on the topic “Understanding your adolescent”. The guest speaker for this talk was Mrs. Binny Sharma. Binny Sharma is the founder and & architect of ‘The Empower Teens Program’ – designed for middle years and high

school students. She is a teen mentor, motivational speaker and a columnist. She writes, engages and inspires teens on their mental wellbeing.

She held a session on ‘Understanding your adolescent’ which went very well. The parents were really engaged into understanding their adolescent and how they

are able to help support them so they can have a great transition from child hood to adulthood. The parents were engaged and asked so many questions about their adolescents and relating with them. All their questions were answered by Mrs. Binny to their satisfaction.

It was an awesome forum!

The school ( Year 12 in particular) engaged in this philanthropic venture. At the close of the funds drive and the reconcilliation of forms, we realised Ksh. 24,800/-. The highest grosser was Ayush Kalpushu of Year 12E. Our congratulations goes to Ayush. It is noteworthy that only 24 students participated in the exercise, given the exams’ atmosphere. In return Mater Hospital has since delivered 16 t-shirts (for those who donated Ksh. 1000/- and above) and 5 caps ( for those who

donated Ksh. 500/- and above). In addition, three wrist bands- for Ksh. 300/- and above.
