city where the great Parthenon is located.
• The Acropolis showed that Athens was a powerful city.
• The Parthenon is a temple contributed to the goddess Athena.
• It’s tall marble pillars, bright colors, and amazing statue of Athena would intimidate foreigners.

Acropolis• It was the first stone built theatre
where Greek drama originated from• It was originally made to worship the
god, Dionysus, but then became a entertainment center of the ancient Greeks

• The temple is located in the northwestern part of the agora
• It was dedicated the god Hephaestus who was god of craftsmanship
• Hephaestus shared this temple with Athena
