Moon Phases & Eclipses
The Moon orbits around the Earth while the Earth orbits around the Sun
As the Moon orbits the Earth, it goes through phases.
During its orbit, the Moon sometimes passes into Earth’s shadow.
Night-time is cause by Earth’s shadow cast into space.
During a lunar eclipse, the Moon passes through Earth’s shadow turning a pale reddish-orange as it moves from West to East.
