Kathryn Fagg

President, Chief Executive Women

Kathryn Fagg is an experienced chairman and board member having worked in senior

executive roles across a range of industries, from resources, to manufacturing and

logistics, as well as banking and professional services, in Australia, New Zealand and

Asia. Kathryn is Chairman of Boral Ltd, and Non-Executive Director on the boards of ASX-

listed companies Djerriwarrh Investments and Incitec Pivot. She was a member of the

board of the Reserve Bank of Australia from 2013 to early 2018.

Kathryn is Chairman of the Melbourne Recital Centre as well as Breast Cancer Network

Australia (BCNA). She previously served as Chairman of Parks Victoria. Kathryn is a board

member for the Australian Centre for Innovation and is a Fellow of the Academy of

Technology and Engineering where she chairs the Industry and Innovation Forum.

Kathryn commenced her professional career as a petroleum engineer with Esso Australia

(now Exxon Mobil), after completing her chemical engineering degree at the University of

Queensland. As a petroleum engineer, her work was focused on maximising oil and gas

production from the fields in Bass Strait. From Esso, Kathryn moved into management

consulting with McKinsey & Co working on engagements in strategy and change

management. She then joined the ANZ Banking Group. Her roles at the bank included

General Manager, Retail Banking, in New Zealand, and Managing Director, Banking

Products for the Group.

Following ANZ, Kathryn returned to her industrial roots and joined BHP Steel which

became BlueScope Steel. Senior executive roles with BlueScope included President,

Australian Building and Logistics Solutions and President Asia, based in Singapore, where

she had responsibility for BlueScope’s operations across the Asia region, including as

Chairman of Tata BlueScope Steel in India.

In addition to her engineering degree, Kathryn holds a Master of Commerce in

Organisational Behaviour from the University of New South Wales. She has been awarded

an honorary doctorate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Queensland and an

honorary doctorate in Business from the University of New South Wales. Kathryn was a

recipient of the University of Queensland’s Inaugural Vice-Chancellor’s Alumni Excellence

Award in 2013, and in 2017 she was awarded the Ada Lovelace Medal for an Outstanding

Woman Engineer by UNSW.

Catherine Fox

Author and Journalist

Catherine Fox is a leading commentator on women and the workforce. A

journalist, author and presenter, she regularly addresses audiences around

Australia and often appears in the media. During a long career with the Financial

Review, Catherine edited several sections of the newspaper, and wrote the

Corporate Woman column; and she has published five books, including "Stop

Fixing Women” which along with her journalism was awarded the 2017 Walkley

Award for Women’s Leadership in Media.

Her most recent book “Women Kind” (with co-author Kirstin Ferguson) was

launched in late 2018 and examines how female solidarity and support is

rebooting the global women’s movement. Catherine helped establish the annual

Financial Review 100 Women of Influence Awards in 2012 and was named a

Woman of Influence in 2018; she is on the Australian Women Donors Network

board, and is co-founder of the Sydney Women’s Giving Circle.

Suzanne Storrie

Executive General Manager- Operational Partnering, IAG

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer of Insurance Australia Group Limited

(IAG), Suzanne leads Operational Partnering which supports the business to

deliver world leading customer experiences, optimises IAG to make it simpler

and more scalable and build an agile organisation. .Suzanne’s teams include

Partnering, Procurement, Property and Productivity. Her team leads group

strategic projects and she is also the Chair of Diversity and Inclusion for the IAG

Group and is a member of the Safer Communities Steering Committee.

Prior to joining IAG, Suzanne held senior operational and finance leadership roles

at the NRL, Leighton Holdings, CBA, Qantas and Unisys. In 2015, Suzanne was

recognised as one of the Australian Financial Review/Westpac 100 Women of

Influence and was the Shared Services and Outsourcing Network Thought

Leader of the Year in 2009 and 2010. She was also the Sydney, NSW and

Australian Surf Life Saver of the Year in 1996.

Suzanne has B.Ec, M.Tax, M.Acc, FCPA, GAICD and currently serves on the

University of Sydney Business School Board of Advice, Surf Sports Australia and

the McGrath Foundation Board as Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk

Committee.

Nicola Alcorn

Managing Partner - Sydney, Deloitte

Nicola is the Managing Partner for Deloitte in Sydney, and a Partner in Deloitte’s

Monitor strategy consulting practice. Her expertise is in corporate strategy

development, digital strategy and strategic business transformation projects,

mostly within the TMT industry. She has over 12 years’ experience providing

growth strategy and operational advice to Media, Digital Media and Telecoms

organisations.

Nicola works with organisations facing digital disruption, particularly in the

media. This ranges from redesigning strategy, operating models and core

workflows to capability development and change management. Nicola leads

Deloitte’s Digital Strategy practice, where she works with clients across a broad

range of sectors in setting their digital direction and transformation agenda.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Nicola was part of the original management team at

lastminute.com (UK) taking the organisation from early stage start up to IPO to

become one of Europe’s leading online travel and lifestyle retailers. Nicola held

a number of senior positions responsible for corporate and organisational

development.

Professor Lucy Taksa

Associate Dean ( Research), Co-Director, Centre for

Workforce Futures, Macquarie University

Professor Lucy Taksa has been Associate Dean (Research) in the Faculty of

Business and Economics at Macquarie University and a Non-Executive Board

Member of Settlement Services International Ltd (SSI), a leading not-for-profit

organisation in NSW, since 2015. In July 2018 she was appointed co-Director

of the Centre for Workforce Futures in the Faculty of Business and Economics.

Previously she was Head of the Department of Marketing and Management for

over 5 and a half years. Between 1996 and 2007, she was a part-time member

of the NSW Administrative Decisions Tribunal Equal Opportunity Division and

between 2007 and 2012 inclusive she was Chair of the Board of NSW State

Archives and Records .

She was a member of the Australian Research Council College of Experts 2014-

16, has been an Associate of the Chaire Diversite et Management, Paris-

Dauphine University in France since 2013 and is now on the Academic Advisory

Board of the Global Migration Centre at Gothenburg University, Sweden.

She has published on management and management education; gendered

workplace cultures in nursing, transport and finance; migrant employment,

migrant entrepreneurs, multiculturalism and cultural diversity, representations of

women leaders and Diversity Management.

CEDA is a respected independent national organisation with an engaged cross-

sector membership. More than 750 of Australia’s leading businesses, organisations

and academic institutions from around the country are members of CEDA. For more

than 50 years, CEDA has delivered informed discourse and rigorous research to
