HISTORY

Founded in 1965, TC Aluminium has played a pivotal role in transforming Singapore into

a metropolitan city. With the increased demand for aluminium, the business rapidly expanded

into the Southeast Asian market in 1975.

OUR STORY

As Singapore’s largest and leading aluminium supplier, TC Aluminium prides ourselves

on our exceptional quality, uncompromising integrity and service excellence. The

strong bonds we’ve forged with our suppliers ensure the standards of our products

are maintained at the highest levels and production lead times are reduced.

We continually push the boundaries of technology with new and improved systems, as well as

develop our working environment with a single aim in mind – to efficiently produce quality

products for all of our customers.

Over the years, we have grown from strength to strength. While we started off supporting

companies in the Engineering, and Building and Construction industries, we now supply our

premium products to those in the Marine, Offshore, Oil and Gas, Aerospace, Solar Energy,

Green Building and Architecture industries as well. We have expanded our presence beyond

Southeast Asian shores to countries including Australia, Bangladesh, China and Maldives.

COMPANY VALUES

Quality. Integrity. Excellence.

That is the foundation upon which TC Aluminium is built on. Our sole objective is to ensure

we provide the best solutions and supply quality aluminium to our customers, with integrity.

4 CASTINGThe liquid Aluminium is then cast into ingots, billets, sheets or foundry alloys.

6 PACKINGThe aluminium extrusions and sheets are then packed with precision into pallets before getting shipped out from factories.

7 SHIPPINGThe packed aluminium products are then shipped via road or sea, from the warehouses to our customers. Ready to be fabricated into many useful products.

1 BAUXITE MININGThe first step of aluminium production begins with the mining of bauxite, a clay like soil typically found in tropical regions.

2 ALUMINA REFININGBauxite is transported to processing plants where the clay is washed off and bauxite passed through a grinder and dried to a white powder which is reduced to Pure Alumina.

3SMELTINGThe Alumina is passed between a cathode

which is reduced to Pure Aluminium. It is then smelted to form molten Aluminium.

8 RECYCLINGAluminium is considered a “Green Metal” because recycling of aluminium requires only 5 percent of the energy used to make aluminium and the ease of recycling. Aluminium can be recycled with 100% efficiency such that none of the qualities are lost.

5 ROLLINGSince aluminium is very ductile. Aluminium Sheets and foils are rolled out from a sheet ingot. They are flattened from about 60mm to as thin as 0.3mm.

PrOCESS OF MAKING ALUMINIUM

As one of the most abundant metal elements, pure aluminium usually needs to undergo a series of complex production processes

before it is transformed to premium aluminium for commercial use. Leveraging cutting edge technology, aluminium making process

is continually refined to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency, and production expertise has been honed into a fine craft

over the years. Here is an inside look into the highly sophisticated process:

ALLOy AA 6063

Commonly known as an architectural alloy, Alloy AA 6063 provides a good balance of extrudability and mechanical properties. Its

excellent extrudability allows thin-walled hollow shapes, intricate solids, and other shapes that are usually difficult to extrude with a

satisfactory finish, to be produced more easily. It responds well to polishing, chemical brightening, anodising and dyeing. It also has a

high degree of resistance to corrosion.

CHArACTErISTICS

PrODUCT DATA FINISH & TEMPEr

STANDARD FINISH

• Mill Finish

Natural aluminium finish off the extrusion press.

• Natural Anodised Finish

Aluminium is a corrosion resistant metal due to the film of aluminium oxide that forms naturally on its surface.

By anodising aluminium using an electro-chemical process that thickens the natural oxide film on the aluminium, the resulting

anodised aluminium surfaces become extremely hard, and are corrosion and wear resistant

The natural anodised finish conforms to BS EN12373-1 and is available in nominal film thickness of 6, 10, 15, 20 and 25 microns.

The recommended film thickness is 10 microns and 25 microns for normal and corrosive atmospheric conditions, respectively.

COLOURED ANODISED FINISH

Aluminium extrusions can be treated in durable inorganic colours to yield a finish which is permanent, lightfast, resistant to abrasion

and corrosion, and unchanging in colour intensity. The finish available in bronze and black anodise.

In the colour process, inorganic metal particles are deposited electrolytically in the pores of a clear anodic film. Electrolytic

deposition results in the colour particles being fixed at the very base of the pores, allowing virtually the full thickness of the anodic film

to protect them.

The extrusion is sealed in boiling deionised water, which closes off the pores in the anodic film and permanently seals in the

colour particles.

There are five colours available: Light, Medium Light, Medium, Dark Bronze and Black anodise in nominal film thickness of 15, 20

and 25 microns.

POWDER COATING AND FLUOROCARBON (PVDF) FINISH

• Powder Coating

Our fully integrated powder coating lines offer additional surface finishing that allow customisation of colours.

We are able to match various colours that are consistent with the rAL International Colour Code Standard.

Powder Coating Process

Through this process, a solid paint - which is grinded into a fine powder - is thinly applied to the workpiece

by electrostatic spray, melted to form a film and then further heated to polymerise and cure the coating.

The powder coating uses 1 coat system; the electrostatic spray gun applies powder paint only once onto

the profile.

• Fluorocarbon (PVDF)

Fluorocarbon coating is another excellent finishing we provide. We highly recommend this finishing as it is:

- Extremely weather resistant against fading and ultraviolet degradation

- Very durable

- Easy to maintain

- Available in a wide range of colours

Fluorocarbon (PVDF) Process:

During this process, a thin layer of wet paint is applied to the workpiece using an electrostatic spray to form a film,

and then further heated to polymerise and cure the coating.

Fluorocarbon (PDVF) uses 2, 3 or 4 coats system; the electrostatic spray gun applies liquid paint two to four times

onto the profile.

WOODGRAIN FINISH

Woodgrain Finish is a revolutionary new design in wood patterns for aluminium surfaces. It enhances your surroundings with

a rich, natural touch of elegance.

Pro-environment, multi-coloured and refined, Woodgrain Finish is a work of art created by electrostatic spray, allowing the one-

time meticulous application of powder paint onto workpieces, resulting in a natural varnished look complemented by an authentic

wood grain feel.

Woodgrain Finish is multidimensional and can be specially designed for both indoor and outdoor use, for recreational or industrial

purposes and much more. It can be used for doors, windows, kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, garden appliances and a wide selection

of architectural and interior designs.

EQUAL ANGLE

Aluminium Angle is vastly versatile. It is lightweight

and has a good strength-to-weight ratio, which

is why it’s commonly used for vehicle bodies,

buildings, aerospace, general fabrications, frame

buildings, shop fittings and architectural purposes.

The section can be drilled and cut easily. It can be

welded with the correct equipment and training.

Corrosion resistance can be improved with

anodising or powder coating.

BULB FLAT BAr

Aluminium Bulb Flat Bar is mostly used in the marine industry, both in the initial construction as well as the working life phase. Its rounded shape enhances drainage, and minimises dirt and moisture traps. There is also no need for edge grinding. It delivers buckling resistance at a lower weight than flat bars or angles.

ALUMINIUM SHEET 1100

When aluminium is passed between rolls under

pressure, it becomes thinner and longer in the

direction in which it is moving. This simple process

is the basis for producing aluminium plates, sheets

and foils of a variety of sizes and thicknesses.

The most common form of industrial aluminium,

sheet aluminium is widely utilised in aerospace,

transportation, packaging and construction. Sheet

aluminium can be colour-anodised to black, gold, red,

blue and hundreds of other colours. It can be etched

to a matte finish, polished to a sparkling brightness, or

textured and painted to resemble wood.

ALUMINIUM COIL

Aluminium sheet ingots are passed between rolls

under pressure, it then becomes thinner and longer

in the direction it is moving. Instead of being cut into

the standard sizes, the aluminium sheet is produced

as a long sheet with a fixed width and rolled into a

coil. The end users mount them on slitting machines

that cut the sheets to their desired lengths.

CHECKEr / TrEAD PLATE

Checker Plate bears the distinctive diamond

patterns of raised marks on its surface and it comes

in a variety of thicknesses. It is lightweight but

robust, easy to clean and non-skid. Also, its pattern

provides good slip resistance. This combination

of properties makes it popular for applications

such as truck beads, kick plates, work surfaces and

wall coverings. It is also often used for industrial

walkways, ramps and stairs. Having good forming,

drilling and welding ability, it is easy to fabricate.
