Education is the greatest value in NAWIC. Chapters educate members through its speakers, regional conferences have excellent speakers and workshops, and all members can take part in the education programs through NEF and other partners. Lately, convention is THE place to grow professionally and personally with the workshops offered.

Carol P. HenryNAWIC Region 14 Director

The value of my NAWIC membership has contributed to the many educational opportunities that is available to me on the chapter, regional and national level, along with the mentoring experiences that have been shared and continuing professional development that has inspired me to be the best both personally and professionally. Debbie Gregoire, CIT

EDUCATION

“Worth in usefulness or importance to the possessor; utility or merit” is one of the definitions of ‘value’.NAWIC membership has been useful by way of its’ educational opportunities. The programs offered touch every age. From the Block Kids to the Big Kids, for personal and professional growth –NAWIC is the resource, and has contacts with additional resources to significantly contribute to its’ members and the industry as a whole. In addition, simply participating in the organization at any level can provide an opportunity to learn!I must also profess the value of the friends and associates NAWIC has afforded me. My life has been enriched in many ways by all whom I have come in contact with.Christine Barnhill TramelRegion 5 DirectorNorthshore Chapter 339 member

Personal growth, education and lasting friendships are what I consider the value of my NAWIC membership.  NAWIC has enhanced my position with my employer through personal development and growth.  They support me 100% because of the education I receive attending meetings (local, regional and national) with good seminars, speakers and programs.Linda Champlin‐Frank, CIT

NETWORKING

Without a doubt, it’s personal and professional contacts. Need a new roof? NAWIC member’s got one – and for a discount! Need to know how to prepare a certified payroll? NAWIC friend gives free lessons! Need a ride from Knoxville to Louisville? One e-mail does it all… NAWIC sisters are the BEST!!!Evie ClarkNAWIC President 1996/97

I have gained far more knowledge, more leadership skills more business contacts than the membership fee can account for. Whether I travel for work or pleasure, having the knowledge that out there, I have roughly 4000 “sisters” willing to help with whatever I need is immeasurable. Now THAT’S Value.I could go on but you limited me to 50 or less..Anne H. Welch, CIT

ACCOMPLISHMENTSCAREER! I wouldn't be where I am without the networking and contacts of NAWIC. I joined owning a grading company, and while challenged, I needed more challenges. I changed career paths that helped me grow professionally, personally  and I develop leadership skills that enabled me to serve as NAWIC President.

Robin Fulton‐Meyer, CBT, CITON YOUR CASE

“I was once told by my very intuitive Hawaiian friend Patty Suniga that "The value of any membership lies in the accomplishments of its members." How true that is when talking about NAWIC. Our members have accomplished so much – so advertise it, talk about it, be a part of it!

Cindy Johnsen

NAWIC has provided me an array of valuable experiences. Personal growth and education enhanced my career for greater achievement. Chapter and regional involvement prepared me for future leadership. NAWIC taught me to listen, lead, and how to play on a team thus preparing me for personal and professional opportunities.

CONFIDENCEConfidence. The confidence

of knowing there I am not alone. The confidence of knowing that I'm staying current on industry trends by going to chapter meetings. The confidence gained by stepping outside of my comfort zone in a supportive environment where no one wants to see me fail.

Jennifer McElroyNAWIC Region 1 Director

“The value of my NAWIC membership are the leadership skills and confidence that I have been able to acquire since becoming a member. In the 9 years I have been a member I have progressed through the ranks and am now Region 3 Director.”

I would have to say that my self-confidence has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought I would have been able to accomplish the things I have, within the last 3 years I have become the Membership Chair, joined the Board of Directors, served on the Spring Forum Committee, became editor of our Chapter's Newsletter and am now Regional Membership Chair.

Do you count the small words too? 50 or less is just not enough :) I also value the educational opportunities. I have obtained my CIT and passed the first portion of CDS. I am taking the Estimating and Scheduling portion in a couple of weeks. So, hopefully, by the time I'm at Convention I can add CDS behind my name :)

All of these things put together are working towards my advancement within my company. I am hoping to be promoted to a Project Engineer (as soon as the economy gets better). But, that is my new career path thanks to NAWIC.

Helena Johnson, CITProject CoordinatorNAWIC Board Director & Membership ChairpersonCG SCHMIDT INC.

The first thing I think about is how I have grown personally and professional through my NAWIC membership. My leadership and communication skills have certainly improved, which is helping me be a better manager on my job.Sandy Field, CITOffice ManagerCadence McShane Construction

In a nutshell ........

"If you are a woman employed in the construction industry, you simply NEED to belong to NAWIC. It will improve your job performance and enhance your overall success, just as it has mine.“Judy DeWeese, CIT, CBTNAWIC National Vice President Mauze Const. Corp.

NAWIC is exciting! The networking tools you obtain are amazing! The Friendships you make are countless, and the knowledge you receive is endless! You gain a special self confidence in knowing you are a professional in the industry.

I have several. Networking. NAWIC members are my go to when I need supplies, workers, etc. Friendships. Educational opportunities that have helped me grow as an individual and also gave me information about the construction industry that I did not know.

The VALUE of my NAWIC membership is PRICELESS. Nancy EatonPast National President 2004‐2005NEF President 2009‐2010

The value of my NAWIC membership is huge and almost boundless. Networking potential, so contacts to get jobs. Friendship, camaraderie across the United States and more. Mentoring, leadership development from those who have gone before me. Mentoring, leadership development for those who come behind me. Education. Knowledge. Fun. NAWIC.

I am not sure a “Miss” is right for me, but guys, I can tell you from experience. The first thing that comes to mind – Confidence. NAWIC is a pathway for gaining professional confidence to deal with all the trails you will have pursuing your careers. Every function in a Chapter or any level, reinforces the rules of patience, understanding and looking from another side. The Rules for Success.jfw/Jane F.
