Training Programmes 2015-16 |1|

The National University of Educational Planning and Administration

(NUEPA) is actively engaged in teaching, research and advisory services

in the areas of educational policy, planning and administration. The

core activities of the University include: providing technical support

to Central and State Governments in educational policy and planning;

organizing professional development programmes including an M. Phil.-

Ph. D. programme and two diploma programmes in educational planning

and administration addressed to national and international mid-level

education professionals; research in all aspects of school and higher

education; advisory services to national and international organizations;clearing house for dissemination of knowledge and information; and

providing a forum for exchange of ideas and experiences among policy

makers, planners, administrators and academices.

As part of its professional development activities, NUEPA conducts,

every year about ifty professional programmes. It includes long-

term and short-term training programmes, seminars, conferences

and meetings of senior national and international education policy

makers, planners and administrators. On an Average, each year, about

thousand ive hundred senior planners and administrators participatein these programmes. It offers two diploma programmes: (i) One-

year Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Educational Planning

and Administration (PGDEPA) for the national participants; and (ii)

Six-month International Diploma Programme in Educational Planning

and Administration (IDEPA) for international participants. NUEPA

uses a combination of modern methodologies in training delivery

including structured presentations, practical work, syndicate work,

case studies, group discussions and modern audio-visual methods.

All training programmes are supported by professionally developed

training material.

Objective and Activities

• To organize pre-service and in-service training programmes in

the area of educational planning and administration and allied

disciplines;

• To undertake, aid, promote and coordinate research in various

aspects of educational planning and administration and allied

disciplines, including comparative studies in planning techniques

and administrative procedures in different States/UTs of India

and in other countries of the world;

• To organize orientation and training programmes and refresher

courses for University and College administrators connected with

educational planning and administration;

• To develop networking of Institutions engaged in identical task

as that of this University and to play supportive and collabora-

tive role so that States/UTs and regional level institutions are

gradually undertaken by them;

• To organize orientation programmes, seminars and discussions

groups for top level persons, including legislators, in the ield of

educational planning and administration of policy making level

in Central and State Governments;

• To provide academic and professional guidance to agencies,

institutions and personnel engaged in educational planning and

administration; and

• To offer, on request, consultancy service to State Governments

and other educational institutions.
