ABOUT THE MENA ICT FORUM The MENA ICT Forum is a premier ICT industry event of the Middle East and North
Africa (MENA) region, held biennially in
Jordan under the patronage of His Majesty

The forum has been successfully hosted by the Information and Communications
Technology Association - Jordan (int@j) in

and industry players.
As such, the MENA ICT Forum showcases the
entire MENA region’s ICT success stories, and discusses latest trends, opportunities and
future outlooks.

MENA ICT FORUM 2018 THEME
While the immense demand for
information to create greater insight
into business and other aspects of
life continues to grow, the typical IT
(Information Technology) that made available many of the advanced
technologies engrained in our lives today, seems to have become obsolete and
gasping behind the new and reformed IT; Innovative Technology.
The future is here and now. Innovative Technologies are now taking centre-stage and are radically reshaping our world. From self-driving vehicles, hot solar cells,
gene therapy solutions, smart cities, to face recognition and intelligent applications,
new innovative technologies have staying power, and are bound to drastically affect
our economy, lifestyle, and influence our culture.
This year’s theme was inspired by the continuous innovation and evolvement of
technology. We believe that IT is no longer just “Information” Technology. It is, in
fact, shifting heavily into becoming more and more “Innovative.” So, are we ready for
the new IT?

2018 TOPICS
KEEPING OUR CYBER SPACE SAFE, SECURE, AND RELIABLE
As our daily lives become more and more dependent on Internet-based
tools and services, and as those platforms accumulate more of our most
sensitive data, the demand grows for
knowledge in the field of cybersecurity where change is a constant as new threat vectors are continuously developed.
New technologies and new demands by businesses moving simultaneously with the rising need for use of cloud services and IoT pose an urgent need for critical
data protection effectively and efficiently and cyber security is no longer optional in our increasingly networked world.
PROPELLING FINTECH FROM BACK-END SERVICES TO EVERY DAY'S LIFE
Customers have embraced the idea of on-demand finance, thanks to mobile
and cloud computing. Fintech trends show that people are more comfortable
managing their money and business
online. The financial services industry has seen drastic technology-led changes over the past years.
Now, IT departments need to improve efficiency and
facilitate game-changing innovation using friendly solutions. Banking, Financial Services and Fintech Companies are one of the most dynamic industries
today that stand to gain tremendously by demonstrating their innovation in their business conduct and provision of services.
DELEGATING TO MACHINES AND KEEPING HUMAN FOCUS ON INNOVATION
Automating workflows is the way of the future. With the availability of online
workflow management solutions, there is simply no reason to continue spending
valuable hours on repetitive tasks.
As companies use robots to enhance their logistics, manage inventory, and carry out other important business functions, technological developments are
creating a new age of automation in which smarter and more flexible machines will be used on a very large scale in the workplace.
Many experts spoken out against artificial intelligence warning that it is a serious threat to the survival of the humankind. How can we control this? How can
companies prepare for this? Will automation transform our workplace? How will this affect employment and what will be the impact on the economy?
AN INCLUSIVE INTERNET WITH ARABIC CONTENT FOR AN ARAB NATION
Technological shifts are driving new innovations and trends that will shake up
content marketing in 2020 and beyond. The
number of Arab Internet users has increased in the past years and will continue to grow in the coming years.
Therefore, the internet needs more quality Arabic
content for the 141 million users who speak the language. In this session, participants will be introduced to the inclusive internet with Arabic content for an Arab
nation… because it’s about time!

SMART CITIES: THE MELTING POINT OF ALL TECHNOLOGIES
A smart city is a combination of diverse technologies such as a smart home,
smart security, smart education, smart healthcare, and smart transportation. Smart cities aim to reduce the
environmental impact and offers its citizens a superior lifestyle in terms of economic growth and sustainability.
Smart cities are no longer the wave of the future. They
are here now and growing quickly as the Internet of Things (IoT) expands and impacts municipal services around the globe. There are key technologies that make
a smart city work and in this session, participants will learn more about these technologies and about smart cities and how they evolve in general.
FROM THE “INTERNET OF THINGS” TO THE “INTERNET OF EVERYTHING”
Research predicts that the Internet of Things is the future backbone of
customer value. As a matter of fact, we are even slowly migrating towards IoE
(Internet of Everything).
Though IoT has become commonplace, it is yet to have a huge impact in our daily lives. Early adopters are into it already but the bottom half of global user base is still
away from it. Learn more about the Internet of Things and the Internet of Everything; the total interconnection of everything, everywhere, and at all times.
INTELLIGENT APPS AND ANALYTICS
Intelligent apps, which include
technologies like virtual personal assistants, have the potential to transform the workplace by making our
everyday tasks easier and its users more effective. Using AI, technology providers will focus on advanced analytics. In the next few years, we expect
many of you to exploit intelligent apps and utilise big
data and big data analytics tools to refine your offers and improve customer experience.
Intelligent and next generation apps have brought
intelligence to software, enabling users to interact with everyday devices in new ways. Big Data and analytics are growing fast; do you think we can keep up?
A REDEFINED ERA OF DIGITAL COMMERCE AND CONSUMERISM
Imagine ordering a product with a single click on your smartphone, then
having a drone deliver it to your doorstep on the same day? The world
of retail is undergoing an extraordinary
wave of innovation. Technology does play the major role, but it is not the only force. New business models are appearing and customers’ behaviours and
expectations are evolving.
What technologies will have a transformative influence, and what technologies are just a hype? How will the e-
commerce value chain evolve, and what impact will this have on online and physical retail? Attend this session to get all the answers.
WHERE DOES WHAT REALITY END, AND THE NEXT ONE BEGIN?
Both virtual and augmented reality were first used for gaming, but now
companies are seeing an untapped potential to reach audiences who use
these platforms in different ways.
We do know that AR & VR will be game-changing in Marketing. Storytelling is a huge key part of breathing life into a product or a brand, AR & VR will allow
companies to tell stories more emotionally and personally, it will feel like it’s being aimed at you and you alone, which makes it immersive and innovative….
What are the other uses of VR and AR, and how do they fit into our world? Is the future VR…. Or AR? And where does one reality end and the next one begin?
