Our January meeting was great. Aaron Cubic was highly informative and entertaining. We should all be
grateful that he is our city manager. This month’s meeting will be run by V.P. Pat Randall who has graciously agreed to fill in
for me. When we were forced to move from the convention center and found a opening for our meetings at the Wild River
Pub I knew I couldn’t conduct the February meeting. If we hadn’t moved I would have been here to do the job, but Sandy and
I had long standing reservations to leave for Maui on Feb. 26. I guess I could have cancelled the trip, but c’mon this year more
than most we are craving some sunshine and warmth.
We’ll be at the Board meeting and Cook’s Night Out at Wild River Pizza on February 23rd before departing. We are
looking forward to our annual St. Patrick’s Day party when we return. I recently had my DNA tested by Ancestry.com and
found to my surprise that I am 13 percent Irish. I always knew there was a reason why I liked Jameson’s Whiskey. Mystery
solved. ALOHA!

VICE PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Those of us who have arrived from other states are now well indoctrinated into the Oregon culture. The feet are growing
webs and I notice some quacking like a duck!! Yes, it does rain in Southern Oregon, so get used to it.
Larry Graves who manages the Grants Pass and the Illinois Valley airports will speak at our Feb. meeting. He will tell us some of
the history of these airports and how they affect the community. He has promised to speak about the development of drones in the
area and the impact they have created to air traffic.
Break out of winter hibernation and come join your fellow members on Feb. 23rd at the Wild River Pub. See you there!
