is Sulfuric Acid. Although called a catalyst, the entire amount of catalyst seldom returns to its original state.

Unwanted side reactions consume the catalyst and makeup acid is required to return the reaction to equilibrium.

Throughput Improvement By changing reaction kinetics the Alky Tech Process

allows more raw material to be converted at a faster rate.

Since side reactions are mostly the result of additional time in the reactor, less time means more product and less ASO.

Results from one major West Coast refiner have shown

that production levels can be sustained at up to 30%over face plate ratings with no negative impact on operating conditions using the Alky Tech Process.

Steady State Operations The primary concern of all refiners is safety. When fully optimized, an Alky Tech Process Unit will

allow the operators to have better control of the unit. Spent acid strengths will operate within a much tighter

range, minimizing the swings, and the inherent risks, that are present in most operations.
