WELCOME New rescue families

WelcomeWelcomeWelcomeWelcome

Celo and the Cornett family

Celo came into rescue because of a divorce. The Cornett family had lost a Bullie and were looking for a companion for their Clemmie. Celo was very happy to oblige.

Lovable Ms. Piggy (aka Luna) came to us from a kind person who saved her from a bad situa-tion. Ms. Piggy was given needed vet cate and was diagnosed with treatable bladder stones. She was fostered by the Scrudder family

who instantly fell in love with her affectionate and happy personality. Even thought she is an older girl the family decided they had to keep her. There other Bulldog Daisy was not so sure but she is adapting.

Another winning day at the Greater Kingsport Kennel Club show with three Sureshot Zimanee pups in the winners circle! Judge Nancy Smith Hafner awarded Best of Op-posite Sex to Ch. Sureshot Zimanee My Delicate Flower (Poppy) and Select to MBISS GChB. Sureshot Zimanee Only in Dreams (Ollie) and Ch. Sureshot Zimanee Scarlet (Scarlet)! So fun to see these sweet, beautiful pups in the ring together! Sire: GCh. Sureshot Medicine Man Dam: Ch. Sureshot Some Like It Hot Co-breeders: Jessica Back and Ranee Randby — with Ashley Heaton Miller and Michelle Sterner in Gray, Tennessee

BUSTER THE BLUE EYED BULLIEBUSTER THE BLUE EYED BULLIEBUSTER THE BLUE EYED BULLIEBUSTER THE BLUE EYED BULLIE

Buster came to rescue in 2009 from living in a shed with no win-

dow, heat or air condi%oning. He had lost most of his hair and had

skin issues. The kind man who contacted us had already go/en

Buster healthy. He was adopted by the Flynn’s in Maryville and

lived with them for eight years.

“Aer many wonderful blessed years with Buster "the blue-eyed

bulldog," we are mourning his passing on Jan. 27, 2017. Buster was

a steadfast and lovable companion to us and brought many years of

joy and happiness to our family. Thanks for making our &me togeth-

er possible.” Vickie and Mike Flynn

Molly — going strong at 12 Molly came into rescue on a cold December day. She was surrendered to us by

her owner who just could not keep up with Molly. Even though she was twelve

and had had recent ACL surgery, Molly was a “pistol”. She was very ac%ve and

wanted to know everybody’s business. She was fostered by Mari and adopted in

January by a family in North Carolina. Molly was very much loved by her new

family and quickly adapted. However she developed a tumor

behind her eye that caused sudden blindness. Molly was trau-

ma%zed by the abrupt change to everything she knew and was frightened and miserable . The

family made the decision that it would be best to help her cross over. “I took her for a ham-

burger before her appointment. Sweet Molly passed peacefully while I rubbed her belly and

scratched her bum. Even feeling so badly she was such a good girl for the vet. No more fear

with blindness and no more pain for our sweet angel.”

Molly’s original owner has been so suppor%ve of our rescue as we journeyed together with

Molly. We appreciate her generosity and the many kindnesses that she con%nues to send us.

ACer Molly crossed over we received this note from Gail: “I can’t tell you how much it means to me, all the things

you did for Molly. You found her the Perfect home. I know the care, love and a3en&ons she received from the

Hales and from you gave her exactly what she needed and deserved those last few months of her life. You and the

Hales filled the void in her life. I know she missed my husband, they were pre3y much inseparable. Being with the

Hales’ gave her back the missing part of her life, a real family. I will be forever grateful to you and the Hales.”

Sincerely,

Gail Zwergel

Looking for a volunteer.Looking for a volunteer.Looking for a volunteer.Looking for a volunteer. At our last board meeting our president

suggested that we find a member who

could be our “Sunshine "committee. This

would involve sending greetings, cards,

condolences etc to fellow Bulldoggers. If

you would like to help with this project

please contact Ken at

Popeye needs a new home This cu%e is Popeye. We are in need of a home or

foster home for this boy. His current foster family

here in Knoxville is going on vaca%on soon. He is a 3

to 4 year old neutered male. He was rescued by an-

other breed rescue from the Memphis Animal Shel-

ter. He is UTD on vaccina%ons and has been started

on flea and heartworm preven%on. He gets along

with submissive female dogs his own size, but no

male dogs and no cats He is a strong boy and because

he pulls and does not walk well on a lead he will defi-

nitely benefit from obedience classes .
