• Present in 1 in 200 subjects• At apical or posterior segments of the right upper

lobe • Azygos fissure and azygos lobe -> formed when the

azygos vein invaginates the right upper lobe during gestation

• A left "azygos“ fissure, associated with the left superior intercostal vein -> rarely seen
