FIGURE

Problem: Have a friend or family member POSE for

 you, (informal - sitting, lying down, relaxing on

the couch, reading the paper, playing video

games, sitting at a desk) for an extended

amount of time. Draw or paint them, full-

figure, and everything around it. This drawing

will be a more finished, refined version of the

gestures/20 min poses we do on Figure Fridays.

You should spend at least 3 hours on this piece.

You can break this up in increments – if you can

only secure a model for an hour, work on the

model and then work on the surrounding space

without the model in it. It’s tempting to take a

photograph and work from that - PLEASE

DON’T!

CRITERIA –

Must be 18x24

Color OR B/W – up to you

Media up to you

Dynamic composition that has visual movement

Focal point

The illusion of 3-dimensional FORM

Understanding of proportion
