HE OBSIDIAN MONOLI HA psychic scream resonates through the Scarus Sector. Tousands died

on the mining planet o Arshesh Prima during a lightning super-stormthat ravaged its population centres and miles o underground tunnels.

Tree weeks o constant punishment devastated the grey urban

landscapes o the planet. Tose who could afford it, ed the planet, while

the administratum determined that saving the millions o survivors was

not an efficient usage o the Empires resources. It only took one month

to leave the whole planet devoid o any living soul.

But still some beating pulse remained. Psykers o every race in the galaxy

elt it in their sleep like a ashing beacon. Many sent surveillance drones

to Arshesh Prima, and they all came back with the same in ormation:

the image o a black monolith crackling with electric bolts.

Tey all elt an instant interest or the bizarre contraption. It was obvious

that the Monolith, and probably the lightning storm, was not the result

o any natural effect. Te drones determined that there was some sort o

technology in the Monolith hidden beneath a layer o an obsidian-type

material, but none was capable o determining the source.

Te Logis Strategos ventured that this Monolith could be related to the

Necron Pylons usually ound in the Cadian sector, but conclaves o

Crypteks rom all over the galaxy stared puzzled at this new contraption,

while many Eldar Seers wondered i this was just another trick o thelaughing god Cegorach.

Who would be the rst one to lay hands on this new piece o eldritch

technology? Some will want to study it, some will want to destroy what

they cannot understand. Tey all know that their endeavour could be

contested by any o the orces o the galaxy, and they will be prepared

    or the clash.

Imperial ForcesTe champions o human kind areeager to lay hands on the Monolith.Tey rst want to retrieve it, track thesource o this contraption and learnmore about its original designers. Oncethey discover the nature o the threat, they will proceed to destroy all recordsand memories o its existence.

OrksTe sheer amount o destruction thatthe lightning superstorm unleashed onArshesh Prime is enough to make anyWarboss drool in anticipation. Teyassume that their Mekboyz will knowwotta do wivit ta make some Boomonze we snaggit!.

EldarSeers rom many Crafworlds arehaunted by all sorts o bad omens, all o them related with the ominousObsidian Monolith. Tey should securethe position in order to conduct a ritualthat would cleanse the system o itsinuence.

Dark EldarTeir Haemonculi are already savouringthe ne taste o ear that the mereexistence o this object has unleashed inthe galaxy. Imagine the absolute horrorthey could unveil i only they knew thesecrets o the Obsidian Monolith.

yranidsTe hive mind elt the revelation o anew presence in the galaxy like a sharpspine ache. Not alive, yet not entirelymechanical. Cannot be consumed, useless. Could its presence be channeledto attract prey? It must be assimilated.

auWhat is this new tech? None o the raceso their Empire are capable o producingthis sort o machinery. Maybe theycan obtain the Monolith and reverse-engineer it in order to produce bettertools to spread the greater good.

NecronsCrypteks are responsible or studyingand maintaining the technology o theNecron dynasties. While they dontrecognize that technology as their own, they denitely can see patterns uniqueto the Necron race in the Monolith. Canit be possible that someone unveiled thesecrets o the Necrontyr?

ChaosTe cosmic entities known as the Godso Chaos, both eared and worshiped inall the realms o reality, blinked. Maybe

something unexpected appeared inone insignicant planet o the reacheso men. Should they care about it? It isnot in their plans, but it might becomea nuisance. It must be an excuse oranother petty quarrel amongst thesentient beings. Must send lackeys todestroy it be ore it becomes a threat.

Every orce has its own interest in the Obsidian Monolith, and they all have their own agenda.

Whomever gets control over it rst could gain a privileged position as they strive or supremacy.
