The Official Publication of St. John’s Lutheran Church—Depew New York
The Mission of St. John’s is grounded in the pres-ence of Christ in God’s Word and in the Sacra-ments. We are called by the Holy Spirit to spread the Kingdom of God through ministering to all of our members and shar-ing the love of Christ with all people by preaching the true Word of God, provid-ing ongoing Biblical educa-tion for spiritual growth and reaching others with God’s love in all we say or do.

Worship services from St. John’s have been heard on WXRL 1300 AM for over 50 years. This has been a wonderful ministry opportunity and partnership with our friends at WXRL and numerous people have been touched by the Gospel through it. 2018 Sign Up Charts for Radio Broadcasts and Altar Flowers are posted on the bulletin board in the office hallway. Please fill in available spaces and then take a moment to fill out a sheet for the office for your dedication for anniversaries, birthdays, memories or other messages. Thank you to all who are willing to sponsor radio broadcasts and/or place flowers on the altar and so enrich our ministry here at St. John’s.

Lifetime plan for giving: Bob Wirth, from the Missouri Synod Foundation, is a gift-planning counselor. Bob spoke briefly after each service a few weeks ago and will be returning on June 7th at 7pm to explain a unique stewardship opportunity. He will lead us in discovering the plan God has placed on our hearts since baptism, faithfully transferring the blessings God has entrusted to us for the care of our families and the support of ministries throughout the Synod. He will also explain how a Christian preamble to your will or a family blessing letter is a way to leave a final message of your Christian faith for your family. Your message could also be read at your funeral or memorial service. There is no cost or obligation for these services. Having a completed gift plan gives you peace of mind knowing that your wishes for responsibly passing on the gifts God has entrusted to you are fulfilled.
Respectfully, Laura Tirone

June Mission and Ministry
Each month we highlight a specific mission and ministry of St. John’s. These groups will be prayed for in the prayers of the church throughout the Sundays of that month.
CAMP PIONEER … The ministry this month is Pioneer Camp and Retreat Centers—our Lutheran outdoor ministry right in our own backyard at nearby Angola on Lake Erie. Camps are offered for a variety of ages, interests, and special needs throughout the summer at this beautiful setting in natural lakeside surroundings.
ST. JOHN’S YOUTH … Youth Ministry is every effort by the Christian community to reach out to the youth with the love of God as revealed to us in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
St. John’s Youth Group typically meets once a month in the youth room for games and fellowship which include interactive and team building games and discussion to strengthen our faith. We also have monthly field trips!
There is also our Teen Bible Study Program “Rooted” with Mr. Jim Kless during the Sunday School hour for high schoolers.
