The Old Man and the SeaWRITTEN BY: JARRETT LONE
Once upon a time, there was an old man, Santiago, who loved to fish.
He enjoyed being outside and loved to be
in the small boat. He always looked for an
adventure.
He hardly ever fished alone. He had this boy who liked to join him.
The boy was a good companion
for Santiago.
The boy made sure Santiago had food and was warm. He cared for him daily.
Santiago and the boy enjoyed talking fishing stories and often found
themselves talking about the New York
Yankees.
One day Santiago went fishing by himself and didn’t return for days.
The boy was worried and had sent search planes
and the coast guard looking for Santiago.
After days, Santiago returned. On the side of the boat was an 18 foot marlin.
The boy had been worried, but was happy
that Santiago had returned.
Santiago was also happy to be home. He and the boy shared stories of their adventures apart.
