Nestled in the beautiful hamlet of Coldham, with a backdrop of rolling English countryside lies the house of tranquillity. Set back from the road, surrounded by woodland, lawns and farmland this house is a piece of heaven here on earth. Privacy and peace are all part of the package. This 1870’s period property has captured the hearts of the current owners. “We viewed many properties, including other vicarages but when we walked into this house we were taken by the feeling of warmth and it had a nice feeling, a well-loved property” Grand Entrance

Arriving at the property, walking up the curved gravelled drive pure majesty greets you. Built in 1870, five years before the church, this property is a beautiful example of Victorian architecture exuding class and elegance.

Through the stunning wooden front door and into the entrance, an array of eye catching glass work awaits you. Pass through the door and the sweeping staircase demands your attention.

Boasting 7 bedrooms, 2 reception rooms, dining room, kitchen/breakfast room, sunroom, hidden staircases and cellar. Moreover, the surrounding gardens, tennis court and woodlands really allows you all the luxury of privacy with the convenience of local rail links. “Every room is lovely, and all the rooms get used throughout the day at different times. There is a feeling of space”.

Moving further into this home, the dining room can be found to the right. A ‘Hunter green’ wall, well-crafted furniture and a bespoke Chrystal chandelier really elevate this room to new heights. Once again, the vast windows bring the beauty of the outside in, allowing for light to meet warmth once again. “The dining room is my favourite room, its perfect for sit-down meals with all of the family, we use it for special occasions”

One of my favourite memories of Christmas here is all sitting around the fire, opening presents, looking

at the house covered in snow from the warmth within”

Kitchen, Breakfast, and Sunroom

The next set of rooms in this journey through the home are the kitchen/breakfast room, sunroom and utility room. The kitchen is tasteful, light and airy. With bespoke handmade units, an island and an Aga, it is a place to cook, entertain and catch up. There is plenty of storage, space for a dishwasher, two sinks and access to the cellar. It could be truly the perfect family kitchen. Through the alcove, you will find the breakfast room.

The utility room, found trailing off the side of the kitchen, has been laid out perfectly, this allows appliances to be stored away from sight with space for a washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer and freezer.

The sunroom is another light and spacious room that looks out onto the gardens. The expanse of windows allows you to be in touch with the surrounding beauty in all weathers. Just off the sunroom is a functional bootroom.

Upstairs/Downstairs

What makes this property truly special are the servants quarters and staircase hidden in plain sight. Converted into attractive bedrooms, the former quarters are a quirky and unexpected find. The two sizeable bedrooms are accessible by their own staircase and possess their own landing area. As well as these two rooms, you can find yourself amazed by a further three rooms on this floor. The master room is elegantly adorned with a four-poster bed, stunning views and en-suite. The en-suite contains bath, shower, toilet and basin. The two bedrooms left are presented in the same tasteful period style. Every window in this property frame the surroundings perfectly.

The main family bathroom is a tranquil environment. Blues and whites dominate in here, with a large bath and shower, toilet and basin. The perfect place for a long soak and good book.

Attic Living

The second floor of this house is setup as a den/living area. This is the perfect space for retreating from the main house. Cosy and quite, this spacious area is rich with possibilities.

Living the Country Dream

When asked why the current owners chose this house, one of the biggest selling points was the location “We knew it was for us. The location was right, the commute

to Cambridge takes around 30 minutes. The train station is less than ten minutes away from the house. March town centre has a lovely market too”.

Another selling point was the surrounding land. “I am a keen gardener, so the garden was perfect for me. We get lots of birds, deer and squirrel”.
