pledge: Signing this pledge obligates you to speak only Spanish during the program. Failure to abide by this pledge will result in loss of credit for the program. An adapted language pledge will be offered for married couples or beginners.

• A daily detailed reflective journal, per professor’s instructions

• Attendance and participation in all classes, excursions, trips, and activities, per selected option

• Satisfactory weekly examinations/evaluations• School course evaluations

• A valid passport • Completed MLC Immersion Program handouts

Absolutely no refunds will be made on the $500 down payment. Additional penalties may apply for withdrawal from the program after January 1, 2018, or once final payment has been made. The program cost does not include lunches in Buenos Aires. Economical options are available. All effort will be made to hold to the advertised base price. The costs published in this document assume the equivalent of 22 full-time students. Fewer students means additional costs or loss of services to the group.

MLC’s 6-credit immersion program presents an exceptional opportunity to increase Spanish proficiency and to experience a Latino culture. All MLC Spanish majors and minors are required to participate in the program prior to graduation. Preseminary students who are serious about using Spanish in their ministry are strongly encouraged to attend.

Payment #1: $500 due with program registration (non-refundable) Payment #2: Balance due March 1, 2018 (Please note that part or all of the balance due may be non-refundable based on reservations that may have been made or any Language School penalties.)

The first 23 MLC students to register for the full 6-credit program (SPN 4011) will receive a $100 credit toward their final payment. We are grateful to the MLC Ladies’ Auxiliary for this generous gift!

Airfare is NOT included in the cost of the trip. Those who choose to extend their stay in Argentina do so at their own risk and expense.

the Program Will run From may 20 to June 23, 2018, and include the FolloWing:

• Five weeks of intensive small-group instruction in Buenos Aires (mornings and most afternoons)• Five-week home stay program with breakfast and dinner included. Hotel arrangements can be made at additional cost.• Informal extracurricular activities:

San Telmo, Recoleta, La Boca, Café Tortoni, Teatro Colón, Museo Bellas Artes, El Obelisco, El Ateneo, Casa Rosada, Plaza de las abuelas, El Museo de la memoria, El Zanjón

• Tango/Dinner Show (a dressy event)• Three professional tango lessons• Day visit to a gaucho ranch (a meat lover’s heaven)• Day visit to Colonia, Uruguay, on a really cool ferry boat• Day visit to the UNESCO cultural heritage site, Fray Bentos, in Uruguay (super interesting!)• Movie nights• Airport transfers• An “asado” (a special invitation to the school director’s home)• Public transportation card with 10 rides• Six MLC credits: specific MLC courses can be arranged. Preseminary students, this program can meet your

intercultural elective requirement or take the place of on-campus courses required in the Spanish-option program.
