40 Days of Lent
For each day of Lent, tear
off a tab and take action.
These are deeds that can be
woven into our day and bring
us closer to God. Here is
Holy Week! (week 6)
Fast from worrying.
Trust God instead. — — — — — — — — — — — — — Make a prayer out of performing a loving action for others. For example,
when you take out the garbage or help your child with homework, do it mindfully, and it will become your
prayer. — — — — — — — — — — — — — Volunteer for a parish program that
helps those in need. — — — — — — — — — — — — — Fast from complaining. Notice how often you are tempted to complain.
— — — — — — — — — — —- — — Fast from comparing yourself to others. It causes isolation and the
illusion that we are all separate rather than one in God. — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Prayerfully read one of the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ Passion, Death, and Resurrection. For example, you
could read the Gospel of Luke 22:39 to 24:12 — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Be mindful of all that God has done for you.
PRAYER SHAWL- Are you or someone you know
going through a difficult time, perhaps physically or
emotionally and feel that you would like a Prayer

RCIA News
For many people, Holy Week is just the week between
Palm Sunday and Easter. For Catholics, it is a week
when we remember who we are. We celebrate the
triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, commemorate
the institution of the Eucharist, accompany Jesus on
his journey to the Cross, witness his death, and hope in
the victory over death in his glorious resurrection.
For our catechumens and our candidates, it is a week
of spiritual preparation for the Easter Vigil. We invite
you to pray for them in a special way this week. They
have worked hard for many months. The elect have
celebrated the Scrutinies and we have all reflected on
the power of sin in our lives and how it weighs us
down. Please pray that God will continue to guide and
sustain them all – Bonnie, Sue, Abby, Cheryl, Rob-
erto, Corey, and Nancy – in their journey this week.
With gratitude, The RCIA Team
Fr. Pat & Fr. David will attend St. Patrick’s Cathedral,
during Holy Week, for the Mass of Holy Chrism.
Cardinal Dolan will bless the three oils:
oil of catechumens, oil of the infirm, and
holy chrism. The oil is brought back to
our church as a sign of unity with the
Cathedral.
