following precautions to help mitigate the effects of the influenza (flu).
Parishioners are asked not to shake hands with the Priest, Deacons, Altar Servers and Eucharistic Ministers before/after Mass.
Parishioners are asked to share the Sign of Peace with fellow parishioners without touching
hands or kissing. This can be done with meaningful eye contact, smiles,
and a bow of the head in reverence to one another or the Holy Wave.

His Excellency, the Most Reverend Joseph C. Bambera, D.D., J.C.L.,
Bishop of Scranton, and the Office for Parish Life wish to invite couples celebrating their 25
th
or 50th
wedding anniversary in 2017 to a diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass on
Sunday, June 11. The event includes a 2:30 pm Mass at
St. Peter’s Cathedral followed by a reception. Requests for an invitation, with a mailing
address, should be made through your pastor before March 13, 2017
The choir and the music ministry are looking for singers in all voice ranges, and other
instrumental musicians. For the choir, it's not essential that you be a trained singer and you don't need to stand out. We need singers who will blend and not be heard above the rest. If
you wish to be heard then perhaps you'd like to lead the congregation in song as a cantor, there
are opportunities for that as well. Please call or email your name,
phone number and email address to the rectory staff at 570 226-3183 or
[email protected]. In the subject line type "music ministry".
Sacrament of the Sick
If anyone is seriously ill at home, please notify the Rectory office at 226-3183.
Please do not wait until your loved one is at a critical point to be anointed.
If you or a loved one is being hospitalized please tell the hospital when they are being
admitted or as soon as possible that they are Catholic. Hospitals no longer ask this
question.
If you or a loved one is homebound and would like to receive the Most Blessed Sacrament,
please call the Rectory Office.
Young people who will be entering Third grade or higher are invited to
become involved in the ministry of Altar Server.
If this sounds like something you’d like to do,
call the Rectory at 226-3183
Attention all Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers And Altar Servers
The ‘Tear Off’ forms for the next ministry schedule are due TODAY Please contact the rectory if you have not turned this form in. Thank You!
Newly engaged couples must speak with a priest before making
any other arrangements for the wedding. There should be at least
SIX MONTHS between meeting with the priest and the date of
the ceremony. All engaged couples in the Diocese of Scranton
are required to attend Pre-Cana Classes.
It is now possible to go paperless at Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of
Peace and St. Veronica Parish.

Published Intentions
There are certain intentions that are available, for a week at a time. People may do this, so
as a parish family we may pray for those persons who may need it, who have helped
others, or just because we wish them prayers.
Candles (The Tabernacle or The
Blessed Mother) may be lit in memory
of a loved one or for special occasions,
healing, or thanksgiving.
Flowers for the Altar for either
church may be purchased for the
same purpose.
Prayer Box One prayer box is
to pray for people that are ill or
just need the prayers. There is
another box so we may pray for
those who have just been bap-
tized, have just joined the parish, newly mar-
ried, or have recently passed on.
If you wish to reserve a candle, purchase flowers for either Altar or
put a name of a loved one in a prayer box, please contact the Rectory Office Email: [email protected]
