Volunteers from the Edgeeld Fire Department presented a very informaƟve and interacƟve program to our 4k2 nd grade students during the rst week of October. They demonstrated the gear remen wear so students will not be afraid if a reman has to rescue them. They explained the importance of having a safety plan at home and a designated meeƟng place outside of the home. They discussed how to get down, get low and get out. They also discussed the importance of having smoke detectors in their homes. Hopefully students shared some informaƟon with you. We want all of our Parker families to be safe if a re ever occurs. A special thanks is extended to all of the sponsors who contributed funding for the materials given to all students who aƩended. We appreciate Fire Chief Roger Ellis and all of our local remen for what they do to make sure our families are protected from res and for the presentaƟon. Our students learned appropriate safety procedures for riding schools buses and what to do in case of an emergency during School Bus Safety Week. We appreciate Mac Westbrook, County Supervisor and Bernard Simon from the South Carolina Department of EducaƟon School Bus TransportaƟon division for presenƟng this important informaƟon to all of our students. Red Ribbon Week saw students and stasigning a pledge to stand against drugs and bullying. The banner is located in the front hall. Each day saw a special theme with appropriate dress to match the theme. Students and staenjoyed the week while calling aƩenƟon to the importance of the week. If you were unable to aƩend our PTO Fall FesƟval, you certainly missed a treat. This was by far our best aƩended PTO Fall FesƟval in my eleven years at Parker. It was a wonderful family night. Children of all ages enjoyed the various games, cake walks, the glow room, face painƟng, re truck rides, touch a truck, and other acƟviƟes. One of the highlights was dunking Ms. Byers into a tank with balls. Three hundred and Ōy ChicFilA sandwiches were sold along with coƩon candy and popcorn. A special thanks to our local Police Department, Fire Department, Sheri’s Department, and NaƟonal Guard for their aƩendance, manpower, and resources to support our fesƟval. Thank you to our PTO, the service learning students from JET, and to our faculty and stafor making this a special night at the PRIDE! A special thank you goes out to Trisha Cato, Donna Hamilton, Blair Massey, Harmony Smith, and Ginny Wall for chairing this event. CongratulaƟons to Kendall Mims and Reece Hidlay on being named Fall FesƟval Queens. CongratulaƟons to Travis Asman and Jordan Chinn for being named Fall FesƟval Kings. As we enter the fall and winter season, I want to remind you all of the guidelines we must abide by for school a endance and illness. These are DHEC guidelines for school a endance, and they are also listed in your WEP handbooks. Children must be fever, vomit, and diarrhea free for 24 hours before they are allowed to return to school. This means they are free of these symptoms WITHOUT taking medica on to stop the symptoms. (For example, they truly do not have a fever any longer, not just because they have taken a fever reducing medica on.)   This is also the  me of year to get flu shots. Flu shots are not required for school a endance, but they are highly recommended.   Also, I am seeing en rely too many children with soiled clothing due to incon nence. ALL, children in 4K and 5K should have an extra set of clothing in their book bags at all  mes. If I send your child home in the extra clothes I keep at school, please wash them and return them to me as soon as you can. If your child is one that has frequent accidents and no clothing of their own, I will begin calling you to come pick them up or come to the school to change them.   Thank you for allowing me to serve your children.

Final T-shirt Order   T‐shirt orders are due by Friday, November 10. Money

must be included with the order.  NO orders will be taken
