at St. James the Greater Church (109 Owens View Avenue, Apollo, PA 15613). We have music from our worship band, an inspiring talk, a time for silent adoration, Benediction and Confession in the church. Immediately following, we will have snacks and a time of fellowship outside (in case of inclement weather fellowship will be held in the church basement). The speaker is Chris Baker; Youth Minister at St. James the Apostle Parish (in the Diocese of Pittsburgh) and Co-Host of the YouTube channel: Catholic Sports Guys. RAFFLE TICKETS for the St. Lawrence Church Festival will be sold after all Masses in both churches and are also available at the Parish Office. The raffles this year are a 49” TV, a fire pit with 4 chairs, and $200 in cash ! Tickets are $5 each. The drawing for all prizes will be held at the festival after the basket drawings. Winners need not be present but certainly appreciated.
BAKED GOODS are needed for the St. Lawrence Festival on Saturday, August 25th. If you would like to donate baked goods for the festival, we are asking you to please bring them to St. Lawrence Church the night before or the morning of the festival between 8-10 AM. The Feast of St. Lawrence
We would like to congratulate the Parishioners of St. Lawrence on celebrating their feast day on August 10th. St. Lawrence was canonized in 1881. St. Lawrence, one of the deacons of the Roman Church, was one of the victims of the persecution of Valerian in 258, like Pope Sixtus II
and many other members of the Roman clergy. His major shrine is Basilica di San Lorenzo fuori le Mura in Rome. He is the Patron Saint of Rome, comedians,
librarians, students, tanners, & chefs.

We will be holding our first gathering to kick off the Partner Parish Youth Group for this school year! On Sunday, August 19th at 6:00 PM, we will have a cookout/pool party! The Sperl’s home address for this party is 837 King Street in Ford City. We ask parents to come for a brief, informative meeting that will begin at 6:15 PM. Please bring health insurance cards for paperwork that needs completed. This is an opportunity for all youths grades 6-12. Please also bring a friend who may be interested in joining!
