Bookings essential, contact the Quairading CRC via [email protected] or 9645 0096. ANZAC DAY SERVICE Wednesday 25 April, 11am at the Shire Memorial. This year we will be honouring our service women who served during WWII from Quairading. The Hon Mia Davies MLA will deliver the Anzac Day Address. At the completion of the service a bring and share luncheon social will be held at the Quairading Club. A fly over of Avon Valley Flight will take place at 11:30am during the service. Does anyone know the whereabouts of the wreaths that are used for the Anzac Day Service? There are 3 wreaths that are generally used as well as a community poppy wreath. If you have any information please call Gene Stone 9645 1214. COMMUNITY THANKYOU Thank you so much to the Quairading community for the continuing financial support for Harrison’s ballet fund. PROPOSED PEST PLANTS AMENDMENT LOCAL LAW 2018 The Shire of Quairading proposes to make a local law to amend the Shire of Quairading Pest Plants Local Law 2016. The purpose of the proposed Pest Plants Amendment Local Law 2018 is to prescribe pest plants within the district. The effect of the proposed Pest Plants Amendment Local Law 2018 is that owners and occupiers of land within the district are to comply with the provisions in this local law. Copies of the proposed Local Law may be obtained from the Shire’s website, or inspected at the Administration Centre, Jennaberring Road, Quairading, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm. Submissions are to be received by Friday 25 May 2018, 4pm to the Shire of Quairading. PHOTO CLUB May – June 2018. It has been 10 years since it all began! We would like to extend an invitation to all, including members and ex members to an exhibition showing off all of our member’s photos. We would also love to see your photos. If you have been a member we ask you to get 3 photos sorted and ready for the display. We would like your photos by the 1st week in May. QUAIRADING BADMINTON CLUB Tuesday 1 May, badminton will commence. Please arrive at 8:45am for a 9am start. New players welcome; men, women & children. Weekly playing fee $3. Come along for a few laughs and some fitness! STAY ACTIVE Thursdays, 9:30am at the Town Hall. Please be there by 9:20am, wear suitable shoes and bring a water bottle. The over 50’s exercise session is for one hour and then most choose to go to the café for a cuppa. New participants very welcome. Donations of $5 appreciated towards a new CD player.

MEN’S GOLF Last Saturday Quairading Golf kicked off in style with 24 in the field. The competition was two person ambrose, with the winners on 58 nett were C Fraser & S Wilson, followed by C Shenton & K Johnson on 62. Best gross went to Doctor Ade & P Wallwork with 73. Special congrats to Anne Johnson for receiving life membership, great reward for a lot effort over a long period of time. This Saturday is the Colonel Cup, Stableford. LADIES GOLF Golf is back in full swing and we have had terrific numbers for our first 2 weeks of golf. Great to see so many new faces up there. Results 11 April, Qdg Pharmacy & Fay Minchin Trophy: Canadian 4somes, our brand new life member Anne Johnson & her partner Beccy Wilson on 40pts, runners-up were the Stone girls, Sandra and Shauna 39pts. EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – ABORIGINAL SUPPORTED PLAYGROUP WORKER Expressions of interest are sought from people interested in applying for a position as Playgroup Support Worker for the Aboriginal Playgroup in Quairading. The playgroup aims to support Aboriginal families with young children aged 0-4 years of age to participate in playgroup sessions and to have opportunities to access culturally, developmentally appropriate and fun play activities.
