How Do We Possess Peace?

Great peace have those who love

your law;

Page 7: The Peace of God Pastor Timothy J. Hinkle May 17, 2015

What is the Law of Christ?

The term “Law” almost seems to be a contradiction to being “In Christ” but our “Law” is the “Law” that should be written on our hearts as we are born again and should have the nature of Christ; therefore we should follow the commandments of Christ and those He left to teach us.

What is the Law of Christ?

Ezekiel 36:2626 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

What is the Law of Christ?

John 13:34 34 A new commandment I give

unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

•Remember to have PEACE, we must LOVE HIS LAW

How Serious Is Jesus About This?

• If we LOVE ONE ANOTHER we will FORGIVE ONE ANOTHERMatthew 6:14-15  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly

Father will also forgive you:But if ye forgive not men their

trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

DO YOU HAVE PEACE?• Great peace have they which love

thy law and nothing shall offend them (make them stumble)

• NOT BEING OFFENDED AT YOUR BROTHER OR SISTER IS THE ONLY WAY THAT YOU CAN TRULY HAVE PEACE—WITHOUT TOTAL FORGIVENESS WE CAN NOT EVEN HAVE THE PEACE OF SALVATION

Page 13: The Peace of God Pastor Timothy J. Hinkle May 17, 2015

APPLICATION• STAY IN THE WORD DAILY. When you love

something/someone, you want to spend time with it/him/her. Jesus is the Living Word. The Bible is the Word. The Bible is Jesus. Spend time in the Bible.

• DON’T ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE OFFENDED.  Remember, Satan is a liar, he comes to destroy you. The Joy of the Lord is our strength. We can not have joy if we do not have peace. “Rebuke” the words of Satan when he whispers an offense from a brother or sister. If there is a REAL or PERCEIVED OFFENSE, you must go to your brother/sister and make it right. (Mark 11:25)

PRAYERDear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for your loving-kindness towards me. Thank You for loving me. Thank You Jesus for

loving me. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit which You promised would teach me all things. Teach me to stay in Your Word. Teach me to love my brother and sister as You love me. Teach me not to be offended. Teach me how to walk in

total forgiveness as You walk in total forgiveness towards me. Please give me Your peace. In

Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.
