History of Barrows HouseOriginally, this six acre estate served as the manse for Reverend William Jackson, pastor of the

Dorset Church for 46 years. In 1900, Experience & Theresa Barrows purchased it to create a village farm and country inn dedicated to serving local residents, the traveling public and long term summer boarders, many of whom were writers and artists escaping the summer heat of New York City. Unfortunately, a fire in 1939 destroyed the rear wing of the building. Renovations then included giving the entire inn an overlay of Greek Revival fea-

tures. Later, some interior renovations revealed original wall stenciling created in the inn’s parlors by an itinerant artisan. Barrows House has served as a coun-try inn ever since, offering guests a classic four season Vermont experience.

In 2012, Barrows House was purchased by the owners of the historic Dorset Inn, Est. 1796, and was completely renovated before opening in the summer

of 2013. The inn’s 27 guest rooms, restaurant and tap room have been modern-ized and reconfigured including a new large outdoor dining terrace and a local marble bar. The inn boasts several cottages, a swimming pool, tennis courts and beautiful gardens and grounds, as well as, the finest of accommodations and superb American cuisine.

Seven Springs Vacation HomeA luxury vacation home near Barrows House with 5 guest bedrooms and a loft. It has sweeping mountain views and expansive ponds. The outside features a fire pit, stone terrace, viewing decks and f lower gardens.

Total capacity of Barrows House, The Dorset Inn & Seven Springs is over 120 guests. Rates for all of our accommodations vary seasonally.

Site FeeThe site fee includes exclusive use of our restaurant and bar area, china, glassware, f latware, banquet chairs and standard tables. Linen rental is not included.

Barrows House or The Dorset InnJune-October $3000 plus tent rental November-May $1500 (excluding all holidays) ***There is limited indoor capacity without a tent.

Ceremony FeeAll weddings are subject to a $500 ceremony site fee that includes the use of the gazebo area, garden area or other site on Barrows House property along with white garden chairs. Use of Seven Springs for a private ceremony is subject to a $1500 ceremony fee (rental of transportation is required as there is limited parking). This will insure privacy for your ceremony and a backup rain plan location will also be arranged.

Payment Schedule$3000 non-refundable deposit is required to secure all weddings at the time of booking. A deposit of 1/3 of your estimated food, beverage & tent costs is due 6 months prior to the wedding date and another 1/3 three months prior to the event. Full payment of the remaining balance is due the day after the event.

Dinners/ReceptionsOur reception menus range from $60++ and $120++per person plus 9% tax and 20% gratuity. (See sample menus.)

Rehearsal dinner menus can be designed with your pre-ferred theme such as backyard barbeques, clambakes and traditional dinners starting at $40++ per person.

BreakfastOur traditional Vermont country breakfast is included in our room rates. Additional guests may be invited to dine for a “Farewell Sunday Brunch” for $25 ++ and up per per-son-based on menu choice.

LunchThe Dorset Inn is open from 11:30am-2:00pm Friday-Sun-day offering a casual lunch menu priced a la carte for your convenience. Catered lunches may be organized. Price is based on menu selections.

Hors D’oeuvresWe offer a variety of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres with a range in price from $17-$40++ per person depending on the selection and service duration.

Beverage OptionsFIXED RATE OPEN BAR: Includes 5 hours of full open house bar. Host pays $50++ per person. Fee applies to all guests over 21 years of age. Also includes table wine ser-vice at dinner, as well as, a champagne toast.

OPEN BAR BASED ON CONSUMPTION: Fully stocked bar, allowing your guests to order anything they would like; cost is based on consumption. This option can be set with a time limit or product limit, as well.

BEER AND WINE BAR: Host chooses to pay for any beer and wine based on consumption. Liquor may be available on a cash basis.

DINNER WINE SERVICE: Choose to host wine during dinner only, charged by the bottle with prices ranging from $29++ and up.
