The Philippines Government
The Philippines government is a limited republic.
The Executive branch contains the Chief of State, Head of Government and the Cabinet.
Legislative Branch: The district and sect oral representatives are elected with a term of three years. They can be reelected but they are no longer eligible to run for a fourth consecutive term. The senators are elected to a term of six years. They can be reelected but they are no longer eligible to run for a third consecutive term. The House of Representatives may allowed to pass a resolution for a vacancy of a legislative seat that will pave way for a special election.
Judicial Branch
Includes the Supreme Court with 15 justices.
Elections: President and Vice President elected on separate tickets by popular votes for a single six-year term.

The senators are elected at large while the representatives are elected from both
legislative districts and through sectoral representation.
The Judicial
Branch is vested by
the Supreme Court.
The President functions as
both the head of state and the head of government.

located in Manila, the capital.
• The Philippines has 80 provinces and these are governed by governors. These people have some power over their provinces but the President Maria Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has power over everybody.
