Coral reefs are made up of many types and shapes. Coral is made up of groups of tiny animals called polyps. Thousands of polyps can live on a piece of coral. Coral reefs are very fragile. Coral reefs are beautiful. Reefs are very busy places. Millions of sea plants and animals live in and around reefs. Almost 25 percent of the world’s reefs have been destroyed. More than half of the rest are damaged. We can all do things to help protect the reefs

One interaction within the coral reef is betweenanimal to animal. The boxer crab holds anemones in eachclaw, they use the anemones to sting predators. The anemones don’t hurt the crab just its predators.

One interesting fact about the coral reef is the growth rate of the coral reef is less than 3 centimeters per year soit takes several years to form a large reef.
