The Polymer R&D GroupThe Polymer R&D Group at Swerea KIMAB is, with more than 25 years of experience, a world leader in the disci-pline corrosion properties of polymeric materials. The work of the group aims at building-up a corrosion science for polymeric materials, analogous to that of metals, to create “true” relevant cor-rosion and permeation resistance data, i.e. data which can be used in corrosion design as to obtain reliable construc-tions of plastics for the lifetime asked for, or required. The activities include studies on materials, such as PVC, CPVC, PE, PP, PVDF, ECTFE, PTFE, PFA, PEEK, PPS, fibre-reinforced ther-moset plastics (FRP), rubbers, etc.

We offer• ContractR&D• Consultancyandadvisoryworks• Materialselection• Failureinvestigations• Testingofpolymericmaterialsto corrosive environment in the laboratory and the field• Life-timepredictions• Qualityassurance• Inspectionsofprocessequipment• Independentinvestigations• Literaturesearch

Plastic Research ProgrammeThe “Plastic Research Programme” is an independent part of the Member Association of the Swedish Corrosion Institute. The work in the programme is an excellent platform for the build up of know-how and expertise in goal-oriented R&D activities motivated by the needs in the industry. The contribu-tion from many participating companies makes it possible to address larger issues in a cost-effective manner for each individual member company.
