lorem ipsum dolor met set january 2013 Hello and welcome to The Pentecostals of Sydney where you can experience new life in Christ! And welcome to 2013…. What a tremendous year we had here at POS last year. It’s important to learn to leave the disappointments of the past right where they are, in the past. However, we ought to rejoice and take encouragement in the great things that God had done for us and through us. Last year we saw over 50 baptised in the precious name of Jesus, with as many receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Glory to God! Our major events of; Encounter, Transfusion and Turning Point were huge successes with optimum attendances throughout. We released Br Jacob & his family to pastor the Gold Coast Church providing the expenses for their move and continuing to support them heavily throughout the year. We continued to give to Overseas, Home and Aust. Youth Missions, filled up a container to donate material relief to the flood victims of the UPC Fiji, as well offerings to the cyclone victims in the Philippines. We supported the youth outreach in Maroubra, while Bible studies and outreach furthered their efforts. On and on, but time and this short article would fail to sum up all the wonderful things that God had wrought through his people this year but we rejoice in every victory and indeed every soul saved from the clutches of hell. This new year, let us not rest on our laurels but let us build upon the momentous achievements of the previous. Only look to improve and to grow from thence with a greater level of commitment and discipline. Not necessarily to do more, for some, but to do better and be wiser in our worship and service to God. What can you change for the better this year? What disciplines will you focus on improving in your consecration before the Lord? These are questions best asked at this juncture on our calendar, so you may as well face them. Let 2013 be even greater for the glory of God. Seek Him First and all else shall follow. “Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.” Matt 6:33 (MSG) God bless you, Pastor Stan Harvey January Handout Guide Page 2. Upcoming Events Page 3. Calendar Page 4. POS Ministries

Hello and welcome to The Pentecostals of Sydney where you can experience new life in Christ!

On and on, but time and this short article would fail to sum up all the wonderful things that

God had wrought through his people this year but we rejoice in every victory and indeed every soul saved from the clutches of hell.

You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.” Matt 6:33 (MSG)

God bless you,

Pastor Stan Harvey

Back 2 School ServiceSunday, 27 January 201310:00am

Every year before our children go back to school we have a ‘Back 2 School’ service where we have some young people speak and we pray for those who will be going to school, that is teachers and students. It is always a special time for families and we hope that you will be able to attend.

Vision SundaySunday, 27 January 201210am & 6:30pm

At the beginning of the year Pastor Stan casts his vision for the church in the coming year. While our vision as a church continues to be the ‘2020 Vision’ which is described on our website, Pastor gives us a focused theme for each year. Previous years have been ‘Increase’ and ‘Catalyst’. If you consider yourself a part of this church you will not want to miss ‘Vision Sunday’. It will be an incredible Sunday in the house of the Lord!

Australia Day Holiday PicnicMonday, 28 January 2013Strathfield Park11am - 4pm

This year Australia Day falls on a Saturday so the Australia Day Holiday is the following Monday. We are planning to have a Church picnic on that Monday at Strathfield Park. Each family, or individual, should bring enough food and drink for themselves. We will have games for the children and the ‘big kids’ who want to feel young again. Church picnics are a great time and you should make every effort to be a part of it!

New Life JourneyWe invite you to join NLJ; a teaching program conducted every Sunday morning at 10:30am, right after morning worship. These classes will cover questions you may have

about doctrine, why we worship the way we do, what God really has in store for your life and how God’s love for you can conquer all.

These classes are very beneficial to your Christian walk, so take your first steps with Jesus today!

Infants Ministry - The ArkWe take children from 2-3years old in the mornings and 2-4year olds in the evening.

The Infants Room is open from the end of Praise and Worship Service.

In 'The Ark' we have a structured program from beginning to end.

Our program consists of 4 components...Praise, Bible Story, Snack Time & Craft.

The  children learn about God in a safe and fun environment.

ReWired YouthWe understand that High School, Uni and Tafe are times of much change- Physical, Mental and even Spiritual. Whether you're the big man at school or the quiet one in the back of the class you have a place at Rewired Youth.

Come along to a dynamic service on Friday nights at 7:30pm- with skits, games and a message aimed right at you, we guarantee you'll have a great time.

We would love to have you!

Fijian MinistryWe are blessed at the POS to have a large population of Fijians attend our assembly. In order to reach out to the Fijian community we have a Fijian Ministry. Once a month there is a Fijian Speaking Service at 3pm on a Sunday. This service includes preaching, worship and fellowship following. They also gather monthly for prayer and evangelism.
