The warming of the weather and the arrival of March reminds usclearly of one thing: Winter has limited time, as Spring makesits beautiful advance. Its universal, pretty much anywhere yougo, even the most frigid of frost fans welcome the not-to-soonexit of that arctic antagonizer, that glacial gangster, thatinclement known as wintertide. People the world over rise upwith one voice and say, Goodbye Jack Frost, and goodriddance.

Even those of us who enjoy the occasional bout of cold weather,who in more northern climes are enraptured by the falling whiteflakes and rising drifts of crisp fallen snow, even we realize thatwinter is a jailer who limits our freedom and removes ourcapacity for living life. An evening forced indoors by thedictates of a falling thermometer is cozy and nice. A month ofthem can be monotonous and maddening.

Listen to the Lover in the Bibles Song of Songs, as he addresseshis beloved: "My lover said to me, `Rise up, my beloved, my

fair one, and come away. For the winter is past, and the rain isover and gone. Winter was over and it was time to get aboutthe business of fun and romance, of living and loving. It wastime to escape the misery of quarantine and enjoy the beauty andopulence of a wide open world.

The winter of our souls fled before a Roman cross and an emptytomb two millennia ago. Even so, our Great Lover bids us,Risecome awayFor the winter is past Why do we whohave been set free continue to choose our chains? Who do weignore the many benefits of abundant life in Christ and live asthough we were paupers far away from the Kings table?

Is it not time for us to embrace the Lover of our Soul, to joinHim in the grand adventure of reclaiming territory for theKingdom of God? Saint of God, shake yourself, wake up, enjoyall the many blessings your Lord reaches out to you. Refuse foreven one more second to content yourself on stale bread andlonely places, but rush out and join the Son as he sets you free.

Indeed.

Happenings This MonthNorth & South DinnerA century and a half ago, the tensions

between the North and South portions of our nation rose up into

armed conflict and four years of war that forever reshaped these

United States. Well, on Sunday, March 13th, Praise Temple Church

of God is holding a rematch - culinary style! It's the North Vs.

South Covered Dish Cook-off. Bring some tradition fair that

closely represents the cuisine of your childhood or pre-Floridian

life (even if that means food from outside the U.S. borders) and

we'll see whose entree makes your taste-buds simply surrender. Of

course you realize, this means war, so...Bon-appe-fight!

Wild At Heart Men are you tired of being tamed and

domesticated? Do you ever feel that God planted in you qualities

which society and even the church (gulp!) has tried to cover up and

take away? Do you long to find your true heart and lead your true

life? On the first Thursday of every month, Empowered Men meet

to study the John Eldridge classic, "Wild at Heart" and to

fellowship with one another. The next monthly meeting will be

Thursday, March 3rd @ 7:00 p.m.

Purse Silent Auction Ladies, is it time for a new fashion

accessory? Does Momma, in fact, need a brand new bag? The

Raise a Purse for a Purse Auction should meet your needs purse-

fectly (sorry, we couldn't resist). On Friday, March 18th, beginning

at 7:00 p.m. the fundraiser will begin and we hope to see you and

every lady you know right there!

Please bring in your donated purses by the Women of Praise

monthly meeting, Thursday, March 3rd @ 7:00. Also, don't forget

to fill your M&M containers and to pray for your secret sisters.

Calling all seamstresses! We need your skills to help make

alterations to the clothing we are receiving, donated from Dot's

Department Store. Thank you for using that blessed skill to bless

the Kingdom of God.

KIDS OFPRAISE

Homemade Ice Cream! Is it still homemade if you make

it at church? One thing's for certain - it's still ICE

CREAM!!! On Sunday, March 27th, the Kids of Praise

will be enjoying a delicious batch of the cold and creamy

stuff during their service. Come on kids, taste and see that

the Lord is good - in more ways than one!

KINGDOMRAZErs YOUTH

Special Thanks We would very much like to think each

and every person who supported the Sweetheart Banquet.

We were able to raise $358 for the work of the Lord!

New Youth Services Recently, the RAZers began their

own private weekly worship service in the PBC chapel on

Wednesdays from 07:00-08:00 PM. What a great time!

They are starting a weekly Bible study on Psalm 91. The

person with the most outstanding notebook will receive anipod!

Car Wash Do you know what's better than washing your

car? Letting someone else wash it! Do you know what's

better than letting someone else wash your car? Donating

towards the Kingdom of God when the Kingdom RAZErs

youth washes your car for you! On Saturday, March 5th,

from 8 am till 1pm, at Advanced Auto Parts in Groveland,

the youth will be having their car wash fundraiser.

Parents, please remember that we can use your help too,

by providing buckets, sponges, etc., or even by helping to

clean the cars themselves.

Antiquities Pictures

If you would like some precious pictures of your littleone's that will be a bright spot in your photo album,then look no further! On Saturday, April 2nd,Antiquities will be with us to capture wonderful picswhich are sure to delight you for years to come.

For $10 you will receive a 10x13 of your child/ren.The photographer will take other various poses foryou to choose from and purchase, if you desire. Allphotos will be back before Easter.See Sister Judy or Sister Megan to book your

appointment today!
