Wonder Window School Board Wonder Window students are having a fun summer

Ms. Charla Herider
Director
Dear Wonder Window and Lutheran Church of Prayer family,
I would first like to take an opportunity to officially welcome our new Pastor, Pastor Toenjes and his family to both Bakersfield and to our church and school. We hope you survive your first summer with us. If you make it through this first one, you’ll be just fine! Secondly, I want to wish you all a very happy Independence Day!! I grew up in a military family and my son is currently serving in the U.S. Navy. It’s a special time of year and I use it as a reminder to say extra prayers for our nation and those who serve her.
We’re really looking forward to having Chapel time with Pastor. We would like to thank Mr. Bennie for all of his time teaching us over the last year. We have enjoyed seeing him in Chapel each week and hope that he will continue to stop by from time to time and visit with us!
Our themes this month will focus on patriotism, cooking, the beach and ocean as well as VBS. We will continue learning the Fruits of the Spirit and be learning more about kindness, goodness and faithfulness. The fruits are fitting together to shape each of us into better people.
We are super excited for Vacation Bible School which begins on Monday, July 25th. There are 5 full days where we will Bible Blast to the Past. I have heard the children
talking about what we might expect and I can tell you, they are interested in not only the message, but in the music, snacks, games and art projects. Remember to save a little change for the mission project that will be chosen. It’s amazing how a little bit of change adds up to big dollars.
Wishing you all a fantastic month filled with love, joy, peace, understanding, kindness, goodness …. and fireworks!
Peace be with you, Ms. Charla Herider
The Gift of Grace Grace is something you can never
get but only be given. The grace of God means something like: Here is your life. You might never have been, but you are because the party wouldn’t have been complete without you. Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Don’t be afraid. I am with you. Nothing can ever separate us. It’s for you I created the universe. I love you.
There’s only one catch. Like any other gift, the gift of grace can be yours only if you reach out and take it. Maybe being able to reach and take it is a gift too.
