Greetings from ”Scenic Warren County”, I’ve been asked by the former creator of this little gossip center to kick in with some insights as to what happening in our garages or car worlds. I don’t get out and around much, so I could use some help from the membership to keep up to date and current. If anybody has anything to share with the other members, please don’t hesitate to let me know about it. It looks like Tom Merring has kicked up the pace on the ’60 convert. The “Flying Bluebird” has been getting some new metal here and there and with some of the new metal fabrication tools recently acquired, it looks like a good start is underway. His energy and knowledge (not to mention the parts inventory) of the ’60 model year will surely produce another great car again. Nice barn load ‘T’…El, Flatty, and a Convert. Real nice! The amazing Jim Brussel has been making steady progress on his ’64 El Camino. I say amazing because he finds a good bit of time to devote to it, in spite of all the time he spends driving up and down the east coast. I’m betting he racks up as many miles driving in a year as any over the road trucker. Hey JB…you got one of those C.B. things? What’s yer handle, something like ‘The Silver Bullit’, maybe?

Yours truly spent last week digging out the three feet of white sh## that has been burying the ’63 Sedan Delivery Project. It’s in my shop now for some assembly work. I’m not sure how far I’ll get with it by summer, (it’s been a nightmare) but I’d like to get to drive it on a highway for the first time ever this year. I’ll have more on that later. You might want to mark the calendar for a new (could be an annual) event in Bordentown. Long time member Joe Pasquale has the Retro-Fitness Center on Rt. 202 (formerly the Towne Ford dealership with a huge parking lot) near the Community Center where our meetings are held in the winter months. He is co-hosting a “bring whatever you have if it’s older than 1986” car show on Sun. May 22. It is to be a judged event with many classes and I believe some 53 trophies. You can call Joe at (908) 307-4551 for more info. Watch for the flyer to be available next month. I hope you all are enduring this harsh winter well and looking forward to the car season as much as I am. Now is the time to button up any upgrades to your ride and not have anything get in the way of being able to enjoy it. If something does act up just say like I do… Don’t mean nothin’ = Drive on! Jim Krous
