PENNIES
We are still collecting pennies
and we are going to see how far we can travel in a calendar
year. We have collected $314.42 so
far in 2019.
MESSAGE FROM MEMBERS PRESIDENT—
JUDY WALLS
Hello Everyone!! A great big "Thank You" to all those who volunteered their time (and delicious food) for our pot luck dinner and Buddy's Hideaway band on September 13th and the Purse Bingo on September 20th.
Check out the bulletin board as there are some great photos and interviews on a Member and a Board Member. One of our members asked me to send a Thank You to the person(s) that brought in produce as it was appreciated.
Our next members meeting date will be Monday, October 14th at 12:30 p.m. Hope to see you there!
Crocheted Afghan Winner was Donald McKnatt. Thank
you to Jean Miller for donating the afghan and everyone
that purchased tickets.

Here are a few tips for seniors to
follow to stay healthy and safe
during the colder seasons from the
Harrington Police Department.
Get the flu vaccine. The Centers
for Disease Control recommends
that adults aged 65 and older get a
flu vaccine each year, ideally by the end of
October. While the flu shot is recommended for
every person above six months of age, seniors
are especially at risk for complications from the
flu, such as pneumonia, bronchitis and ear in-
fections. The flu can also make any chronic
health problems worse.
Be wary of tripping hazards. People generally
experience stiffer joints in colder weather. Not
only might it be a bit harder to move around,
but it gets dark out early, and fallen leaves
create slipping hazards or even cover up
hazardous rocks that you can trip on. Make sure
leaves are cleared from sidewalks and driveways
on your property and that all walkways are
lighted to reduce your chances of a fall.
