There once was a Pea.

Page 3: The Princess and the Pea

The Pea couldn’t wait to be picked!

I can’t wait to be picked!

Page 4: The Princess and the Pea

He sat in the Garden with the sun shining down on his green skin and he waited

to be picked.

Page 5: The Princess and the Pea

Finally one day it happened. He was sitting in the garden when a huge hand comes and plucks him right off the

plant. “I’ve been picked! I’ve been picked!” he shouted.

Page 6: The Princess and the Pea

He was then taken to a room where a huge bed was with

lots and lots of mattresses.

Page 7: The Princess and the Pea

Then he was put under the very last mattress and he was left there

to wait.

Page 8: The Princess and the Pea

Suddenly he heard a noise. A Princess had walked into the room and started climbing up the tall ladder to

the top of the heap of mattresses.

Page 9: The Princess and the Pea

The Princess laid on top of the bed and

stayed there for what seemed like forever.

Can’t breathe in here!

Page 10: The Princess and the Pea

The little Pea grew tired of waiting and soon fell fast asleep.

Page 11: The Princess and the Pea

Then the little Pea awoke to the rustle of covers and the thump, thump, thump, of feet

on the ladder.

Page 12: The Princess and the Pea

The Queen knocked at the door and the little

Pea heard her say “How did you sleep”? Then she came in and the Princess replied:

Page 13: The Princess and the Pea

“Oh terribly bad! I didn’t sleep a wink. I

must’ve been sleeping on some hard thing, I

ache all over this morning. It’s terrible!”

Page 14: The Princess and the Pea

The Queen had excitement and

happiness in her voice.

Page 15: The Princess and the Pea

Then all of a sudden…

the Queen’s smiling face.
