KonyaKonya, which is one of the oldest settlements of human history, served as the Capital of the Anatolian Selçuk and it is known as trade and accommodation center of the historical Silk Road. Known as one of the earliest settlements on Earth, the city inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, too. Konya also hosts Mevlâna Celaleddin Rumi and introduces herself to the world as the city of affection, friendship and tolerance.

Surrounded with many historical monuments and sites, Konya offers the opportunity to get familiar with the cultural values of the region and get immersed in Rumi's philosophical thoughts.

Konya which is the 7th largest city of Turkey in terms of population, influences and drives the region in terms of economic, political and social aspects. As of 2014, Konya city have a population of more than 1 million.

Konya offers the combination of many universities and quality living standards. It is a livable city for students around the world.

About Selçuk UniversitySelçuk University, which began its educational endeavors in 1975, is one of the leading higher education institu-tions of Turkey, with its 21 faculties, 6 institutes, 6 schools, 22 vocational schools, 1 state conservatory and 9.519 graduate, 38.115 undergraduate, 26.178 two-year degree, totally 73.812 students.

With a population of about 80 thousand people, including academic staff, administrative personnel and students, Selçuk University, according to the figures released by the Turkish Statistics Institute, is larger than 10 provincial centers and, according to the international publications data released by the Higher Education Council (HEC), ranks in the first 8 in Turkey.

According to 2013 Scopus data of Scimago Institute, one of the well known world universities ranking institutions, our university is ranked in the top 8 universities in our country and 678th in world's ranking.

In addition to campuses in 18 districts within the borders of the province of Konya, our University has a campus in the city centre of Konya which covers an area of 14.5 million square meters.

ScientificDevelopments

• More than 1.000 foreign students from 86 different countries, including France, Germany, Israel, Afghanistan, Thailand, Sweden and Norway, receive education at our university.

• The Konya Technopark, an affiliate of our university, is one of the fastest developing technopark in Turkey in terms of the number of companies it has. It ranks second after METU Technopark in terms of academic staff employed by companies within the capacity of advisors and directors.

• The Rumi Research Center, which was established in 2010, is the only institution of education in the world bearing the name of famous mystic Mawlana Jalaladdin Rumi.

• Dual Degree Programs have been started with Montana State University in “Mechanical Engineering” and “Biochemistry” departments and St. Cloud State University in the USA. With the inception of EU Research and Application Center, bilateral agreements were signed within the framework of Erasmus +. Farabi Student Exchange program was established in 2010 to enable student mobility among universities within the country. In 2012, our university was given the “University with the Highest Student Mobility Award” by The Council of Higher Education in Turkey.

• BILMER, the computer center of our university, is Turkey's largest computer center with a fiber optic cable network of 100 km and can serve 2.000 students simultaneously.

Selçuk University has 81 student clubs varying from fashion to chess, social

responsibility to drama and perform over 300 events annually. Turkey's

leading artists, singers, actors and actresses and authors meet with our

students within the scope of “Culture and Art Events” hosted annually by our

Rectory and Faculties. About 100 thousand people attend these 5-day

events.

Alaeddin Keykubat Campus is home to 19 May Torku Arena Sports Hall,

which, with a capacity to hold 3.500 spectators, hosts various national and

international activities. The 75th Year Sports Hall, where, with a capacity of

500 viewers, basketball, volleyball and handball competitions can be held.

Moreover, our university has 3 sports halls, an Olympic stadium covering an

area of 10.345 m² with a capacity of 3.100 viewers, 2 astro pitches, 2 tennis

courts and a 10.000 m² Olympic Indoor Swimming Pool with a capacity of

1.000 viewers.

Selçuk University Ataturk Student Dormitories located in Alaeddin Keykubat

Campus consists of 5 blocks. With a capacity to accommodate 2.160

students. These dormitories offer rooms for one, two and four students. A

low-priced cafeteria with a 1.680 m² indoor area serves to the students

staying at our dormitories.

In order to meet the accommodation needs of foreign students who come to

Selçuk University through various exchange and cooperation programs,

Erasmus House was built at Selçuk University. This Erasmus House is the only

one of its kind in Turkey. The building can accommodate 96 students in its 48

rooms.

Selçuk University does its best to provide its students with inexpensive,

healthy and quality meals and serves a 4-course meal to 18.000 students at

affordable price. Menus are prepared in collaboration with a dietitian taking

the students' daily energy and nutritional needs into consideration.

After registration, the candidates should get a sufficient score from Turkish test conducted byTurkish Education Center (TÖMER) of a T.R. University.

The students placed at Selçuk University can sit to Turkish Exam at Selçuk University.

SELCUK UNIVERSITYACCEPTANCE PROCESS TO ASSOCIATE AND BACHELOR’S DEGREES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

SÜYOS (SELCUK UNIVERSITY FOREIGN STUDENT SELECTION TEST)

The applicant will receive a confirmation e-mail with a‘Candidate Examination Entry Card’ on the date specified.

SÜYOS Exam will be held in June on the date specified.The entrants will sit for the exam at the places indicated on their ‘Candidate Examination Entry Card'

On space –available basis,the candidates will apply to the related faculties personally in accordance with SÜYOS Regulation.

On the date specified ‘SÜYOS Exam Result’ will be e-mailed to the entrants.

The applicants will make a selection online according to their test result.

The Placement Results and exact registration date and time will be announced.

The applications for exam will be accepted online during March and April http://suyos.selcuk.edu.trApplication fee should be paid with credit card.

The applications and application fees in Turkey (Konya), Germany (Dortmund),Iran (Tehran/Tabriz) and Azerbaijan (Baku) will be accepted by SÜYOS Office or its official representatives.

The Competitive Examination ofSelçuk University For Foreign Students(CESEFFS)The Competitive Examination of Selçuk University for the Foreign Students (CESEFFS) is an examination which foreign students or students from abroad may use to study at Selçuk University at associate’s degree and bachelor degree. This examination is executed by CESEFFS coordinatorship which carries out the examinations for the qualification of the students that will be accepted from abroad to Selçuk University.

International Exchange ProgramsErasmus +The Erasmus+ Program is designed to support Program Countries' efforts to efficiently use the potential of Europe’s human and social capital, while confirming the principle of lifelong learning by linking support to formal, non-formal and informal learning throughout the education, training and youth fields. The Program also enhances the opportunities for cooperation and mobility with Partner Countries, notably in the fields of higher education and youth. Our University has agreements with most of the EU member countries.

Mevlana Exchange ProgramMevlana Exchange Program is a program which aims the exchange of students and academic staff between the Turkish higher education institutions and higher education institutions of other countries. With the regulation published in August 23, 2011, students and academic staff exchange between Turkish higher education institutions and higher education institutions of other countries has been possible. Different from other exchange programs, Mevlana Exchange Program includes all higher education institutions in the world regardless of their region. Our university has signed 21 Mevlana Exchange Program Protocols with different countries around the world, from Unites States to Azerbaijan, Malaysia to Kyrgyzstan.
