Several children came by the Library on the evening of Nov. 28 to write their Letters To Santa. They have been mailed off, and everyone is awaiting their reply from the big guy himself.

Thank You
I want to say thank you to all the people that came to the banner auction. It made the night a suc-cess. Thank you to all who paint-ed banners to make our town look nicer. To Pat Wilson who heads up the banner committee, thank you.
The money raised from the auc-tion will ensure some new ban-ners for next year and it will go a long way to keep the 50+ Club afloat.

JHS December 2012 Newsletter
JHS Remembrance Day Service JHS Remembrance Day Service was on Nov. 8th. It was a moving cer-emony in which the Grade 5/6 class did a presentation, thanking our veterans. Jessica Rouse, Carrie Schaeffer and Sam Hardock read their amazing and emotional poetry. Special thank you to Comrade Wayne Horsman and Comrade Tim Keslering for joining our services. The stu-dent body did a fantastic job of showing their respect while we remem-ber those fallen and fighting in the Armed Forces. A special congratula-tions goes out to Mieka VanOpstal who received an Honourable Men-tion for entering her poem "One War" in the Legion Poetry Contest.
One war
One war. About 1 million people joined, Bombs dropped from planes like tears falling from
a child’s face. While atomic bombs blew up in
Japan. And soldiers shot each other. One war. Zing, bang…. boom. Bombs
blew up… grass dirt and people flying in the air.
Germans guns go giddy while bombs gloom the
gardens. About 45,000 dead. One war.

They didn’t eat to raise money for those kids in third world countries who are dying from starvation. Every six seconds a child dies from hunger, bad water, and HIV/Aids. We raised $542.00 to feed kids and help put water wells in remote areas. JHS cares!

Spiritual Winterlude at 50+ Club
The Following Article is the W5 on the BFF of the CSI
The Who?, What?, Where?, When? and Why? of
COMMUNITY SPIRITUAL
INTERLUDE Belief, Faith, Fellowship.
One year ago two groups of BFF type people came together, begin-ning with a Community Christmas Eve Service. We came from very
small, different denominations that were unable to financially support
our sanctuary structures.
We Believe, have Faith, and enjoy Fellowship with folks of kind. We worship together on Sunday morn-
ings 9:30 at the 50+ Club. We have a choir, a congregation, a Lay Minister and an Ordained Minister who take turns providing each week’s service
and message.
After a year of worship together we have become one group and we
would love to grow! It is said, “the more the merrier”. We would sure
like to find out if that saying is true.
If you Believe and have Faith and would enjoy Fellowship with folks
of kind or maybe you are wondering, seeking knowledge and/or support,
please stop in and join us on Sunday Mornings at 9:30am for a little

THE TRAIN IS COMING THE TRAIN IS COMING THE
TRAIN IS COMING
This
year we have been very privileged to have the CP Christmas Train stop in Qu’Appelle. It will be stopping at the Corner of North Pacific and Ontario Street Friday December 7th at 4:00Pm. The Lioness will have a half-ton truck sitting up near where the train is to stop ready for any more food bank donations that you wish to bring. As we have said be-fore all donations stay in Qu’Appelle, if there is an over abundance of food items that we cannot keep we will be taking them into The Carmichael Outreach in Regina. All monies will stay in Qu’Appelle to be used through out the year.
The James Hamblin School children have been bringing in food bank donations to the school and receiving a draw ticket for a chance to ride the Christmas Train. CP has been extremely kind in giving us tickets for the children to ride the train from Qu’Ap-pelle to Regina. With the assistance of Heather Kenzora, Heather Woods from the CP we have been able to have acquire 6 tickets for 4 students and 2 adults to ride the train to Regina. The draw for the tickets is happening Monday the 3rd of December at the School. There are going to be 4 very excited children on Monday and on Friday, the day the train comes to town. The Entertainers riding the Christmas Train and who will be there for our enter-tainment are Doc Walker who is a country music group from Portage La Prairie, Manito-ba. They have won Canadian Country Music Awards and had radio hits with the songs "I Am Ready" and "The Show is Free" from the 2003 album Everyone Aboard. The other entertainer will be Miss Emilie she is a Kingston Ontario native and is one of the best-kept secrets in the music business. With Adele-esque soul and power, Miss Emily delivers jaw-dropping vocals.

Christmas Carol debuted in 1843 and has

Cruel miser Ebeneezer Scrooge has never

most of all. When Scrooge is visited by
the ghost of his old partner, Jacob Marley,
and the ghosts of Christmas Past,
Christmas Present and Christmas Yet To
Come, he learns eternal lessons of

CHARMAINE “NOT SO SWEEET” TWEET REPRESENTS QU’APPELLE
Qu’Appelle’s own Charmaine “Not So Sweet” Tweet gets the chance to represent Qu’Appelle on the International stage once again! Charmaine and her team have just got back from Mumbai, Indian, where no November 23rd, she competed in her 5th professional MMS (mixed martial arts) match. Team Tweet traveled 27 hours around the world to compete and win in only 45 seconds of the first round!! Charmaine was able to finish her Indian opponent with a standing Guillotine Choke in impressive fashion. This amazing opportunity started to develop approximately 6 months ago when the SFL (Super Fight League) of Mumbai contacted Tweet to see if she would be interested in coming over to fight in their new Women’s division. After talking it over with her family and her coaches, Charmaine decided this would be a once in a lifetime opportunity...she was wrong! The SFL offered her a 3 year multi fight deal that will see her travel to Indian up to 6 times per year. Charmaine’s opponent was India’s own Puja Kadian, a very skilled up and comer in India’s MMA circuit. But she was simply no match for the strength of Tweet. Tweet took this fight at a new weight then she has fought at in the past, at 145 lbs. she now competes with the best women in the world and has impressively got her name in the top world rank-ings. Charmaine has continued to raise to the top of the ranking while still working full time at her job as a banker at the local Credit Union, as well as being the mother of 2 wonderful sons. Add 4 hours of training to this 6days at week, and you can see how much dedication is needed to compete at this level. Although this new contract with the SFL has made the financial aspect of her fight career at bit easier it still comes no where close to covering the cost of all that goes into this relatively new Women’s Sport. This is where the help of many local businesses and the generous donations/sponsorships comes in. Without these amazing people none of this could ever be possible and Team Tweet would very much like to say thank you to a few of them. Certified Plumbing & Heating (Indian Head) DOMO Gas (Qu’Appelle) Indian Head Agencies (Indian Head) Custer’s Tattoos (Qu’Appelle) Shauna Fay/Ben’s Clip & Curl (Indian Head) Charmaine is currently the SFL’s #1 contender at 145 lbs. and is looking at securing a Championship Belt in the new year! But in the mean time would like to invite everyone to watch her fights live at www.superfightleague.com and to follow her career via her Facebook fan page at http://www.facebook.com/notsosweetmma.
