The R35 Motor

The R35 Motor for the M52TU and

M54 motors is the 6th iteration of

one of our most successful motors

to date.

In this version, the aluminium block

posed new challenges that were

brilliantly resolved by our engineering

staff. The result is a block that is

machined to its absolute limit, then

sleeved with a unique design sleeve

that maintains the original rigidity

and does not allow the bores to

”pump”.

The long stroke billet crankshaft is

connected to six Formula 1 style

forged pistons with ultra-lightweight

wrist pins through six H-section

connecting rods.

The R35 packs more technical

gadgetry than most racing engines

do, including variable camshaft

timing and sequential fuel injection

to ensure it will set your BMW in front

of the pack.

R35 Motor (Step 6)

The R35 Motor is the largest displacement motor built on the BMW M52/M54 platform available to date. As all R Motors, it is sold as an exchange unit for your motor, or as a complete motor ready to go.

The R35 packs a punch that is equivalent to that of a small V8, and gives your BMW the kind of acceleration that leaves you gasping for air. Its third gear progression is fantastic, and always leaves you wandering why didn’t you know about it sooner.

The massive torque of the Step 6 make this motor unsuitable with current automatic transmissions fitted on the 3 Series, therefore we are only offering it for manual transmission models.

All R35 Motors come with a 2 year 50.000 Km. limited warranty.

The Engine Management Software from Racing Dynamics is a tested solution that will enhance your driving pleasure by optimizing the engine performance without any additional modifications. Each program is TÜV Approved and comes with an additional drivetrain warranty.

Oil Cooler Kit

The Oil Cooler Kit is commonly used by race teams throughout the world. The Oil Cooler kit allows your motor

to run at high RPM for sustained periods of time without

overheating. We also have found this kit to be effective in hot

climate areas around the world. The kit includes a new oil filter

housing with extra oil ports, 4-row high-performance radiator, the complete

hose assembly, and all mounting hardware.

Sport Clutch Assembly

As any sport driver knows, having massive amounts of torque is great for acceleration, but it creates all sorts of

strains on the original clutch.

The Sport Clutch Assembly will fit any 6 cylinder motor. It features an upgraded pressure plate with a diaphragm spring that has 30% more clamping force than the stock

unit, yet it is still comfortable in every day use.

Final Drive Ratios

Improve the acceleration and match the gearing of your BMW 3 Series to your driving conditions by installing a different set of final drive ratios. Many options available, please consult your local Racing Dynamics Performance Center.

Sport Exhaust Manifolds

The Racing Dynamics Sport Headers for the 6 cylinder 3 Series are the state of the art in performance tuning for your BMW motor. These units, made of the highest grade stainless steel, maximize exhaust output and deliver improvements in torque and horsepower throughout the powerband. May only be legal for track use in certain countries.

Sport Rear Silencer.

The latest version of the Racing Dynamics Sport Rear Silencers features a efficient pass-through construction with 50mm pipes that jettison the exhaust gasses

through our twin oval tips. The tips are 85x91mm and are embossed with our logos, then polished and

chromed, for a top-notch appearance. The Sport Silencer is lighter than the original unit and carries the full EWG certification.

Power System

The Power Systems for the various 3 Series motors are perfect entry-level performance options that give the driving enthusiast a fully-tested and proven performance platform.

The Racing Dynamics Power Systems include new camshafts with higher lift and duration, which are then matched to a performance Sport Exhaust, which is designed to reduce exhaust back pressure at the higher engine speed that the upgraded motor is designed to reach.

The final and most important component of the Power System is the Engine Management Software (EMS) which optimizes the operation of the variable cam timing (VANOS), increases the fuel rate by increasing the injector pulse, and advances the ignition timing for crisper engine response. It also removes the speed limiters and resets the engine speed limiter to 7400 RPM, allowing motor to make full use of the new camshaft profiles. It is within this extended range that the Power System generates its maximum horsepower gains.

Sport Sound Intake System

The Racing Dynamics Sport Sound Intake System is a complete replacement of the original BMW filter unit and increases intake flow by utilizing a Dacron® air filter. The Carbonfiber cone creates a RAM effect

that creates positive air pressure around the filtration element, thus improving engine performance.

Sport Coilover Suspension

The 3 Series suspension geometry is close to perfect as it is, but the Racing Dynamics Sport Suspension replaces the original shocks with 4 high-pressure units that are

valved to match the stiffer and shorter springs.

Sport Spring Set

Our Sport Springs are the entry level performance suspension components. They lower the car by approximately 20mm, giving it a racier appearance. By lowering the center of gravity, they reduce body roll, and provide a ride that is only slightly stiffer than

standard.

Sport Stabilizer Bars

Our newest bars feature revised bends for easier fitting and superior performance. Both front and rear bars feature 3 adjustment holes per side, giving you 5 adjustment positions on each axle, and a total of 25 settings that allow you unprecedented flexibility when

you need to dial in your BMW’s suspension.

RS Front Strut Brace

The RS Strut Brace was designed using the most advanced FEA software and is the most rigid unit available today. The whole bar is machined out of billet Ergal® and features non-pivoting joints that vastly improve overall stiffness compared to our previous design.

Tornado AeroKit

The Tornado AeroKit is arguably the best looking aero package available for the E46 3 Series. Its extremely clean looks are the epitome of Racing Dynamics’ design philosophy. The front spoiler has a design that is disarming in its simplicity, yet it gives the 3 Series the most aggressive look ever without recurring to fake slats, intakes and all the other ornamental features that are so prominent in many other kits offered by our competitors. Made in Germany of impact resistant PU-RIM, primed at the factory for minimal paint prep. The Tornado Aero Kits are available for Coupé, Cabrio, Saloon, and Touring versions including the face-lift models.

RD 2 Cast Monobloc The Racing Dynamics traditional five spoke design reaches its latest evolutionary progression in the new RD 2. It features a split spoke for maximum weight savings, and a range of true staggered fitments specifically designed for the E46.

RS 2 Cast Modular The RS 2 wheel is the lightweight champion amongst 3-piece tuner wheels. Whether you choose, the reverse contour 18” or the traditional contour 19”, you will have picked one of the most technically

advanced wheels for your 3 series.

RS 5 Forged Modular The RS 5 wheel is extremely strong and light. Whether you choose the reverse contour 19” or standard contour 20”, the RS 5 forged wheels will allow clearance for the largest of big brake upgrades.

Anyone who is serious about performance driving knows that engine torque is only one piece of the puzzle. Stopping your car in the shortest distance possible is as

critical to driving fast as engine power is.

The Racing Dynamics Brake Systems are designed as ready made, TÜV approved solutions that are optimally sized for the 3 series chassis. We offer an entry level upgrade with our Sport System, and an all-out street and track option

with our RS Brake System.
