GETTING STARTED EDUCATION COMMITBUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

GETTING STARTEDAt NCSA, we’re experts at simplifying a complex recruiting process. So to prepare you for what lies ahead, we’ve divided the recruiting process into 4 steps and given you some tools to help along the way!

Using the tools and recruiting information in your RMS will give you a distinct advantage over other recruits. Your New Member Guide is the key to learning how everything works, so make sure to look it over.

LEARN THE TOOLS

College coaches use NCSA to search for athletes based on the information they post in their profile. So the easiest way to get exposure is to fill out each section under the Edit Profile tab of your RMS!

BUILDING YOUR PROFILE

Setting your preferences will tell us what type of colleges you’re interested in, which college coaches to send your profile to, and directly impacts your match percentage you can use to determine if a college is a good fit!

EDUCATION At NCSA we firmly believe that a prepared recruit is a more successful recruit. We provide comprehensive recruiting education that allows our recruits to excel throughout each phase of the process.

Trying to find accurate recruiting information online can be a monumental challenge. So to save you time, the Video and Resource Libraries in your RMS host all the information you need in one location!

GATHERING INFORMATION

We’ve designed a series of online classes to prepare you for every step of your recruiting process. These classes are a great way to learn from our Recruiting Experts and they’re all available under the Recruiting 101 tab in your RMS.

Once you have a good relationship with a coach, the next step is to visit campus. College coaches use these visits to evaluate you personally, show off their facilities, and connect you with key personnel on campus.

VISITS

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPSOnce you have a good understanding of how the process works, it’s time to reach out to coaches, gauge their interest and take some campus visits.

Targeting the programs you’re a good fit for academically and athletically is the most effective way to stand out. Coaches are much more receptive to recruits that meet their requirements and proactively reach out to them.

FINDING THE RIGHT FIT

Emails and phone calls will be the driving force behind developing relationships with coaches. The Resource Library and Coach Communications classes can teach you what to say so you can make the most out of each conversation!

COMMITThis is when all your hard work starts to pay off. You begin narrowing down your top schools, you start applying for colleges, finalize scholarship negotiations and make your decision!

Then comes the culmination of everything you’ve been working toward – the time to announce your commitment! Once you make your college decision, make sure to let us know so we can celebrate with you!

Your applications process typically begins after a college visit as upperclassmen. Each program will have its own admissions requirements and application deadlines, so it’s imperative that you regularly communicate with the coach.

Finalizing your scholarship offers and need based aid is typically the most confusing part of the recruiting process. Our Recruiting Experts are going to be your best resource for navigating this part of the process.
