The Word of GodFirst Reading Isaiah 62:15 Terry Bayorek

For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her vindication shines out like the dawn, and her salvation like a burning torch. The nations shall see your vindication, and all the kings your glory;and you shall be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will give. You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.You shall no more be termed Forsaken, and your land shall no more be termed Desolate;but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her, and your land Married;for the LORD delights in you, and your land shall be married. For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your builder marry you,and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.

Your love, LORD, reaches to heaven, your truth to the skies.Your justice is like God’s mountain, your judgments like the deep. REFRAINTo mortals and beasts you give protection.O LORD, how precious is your love.My God, the children of the earthfind refuge in the shelter of your wings.REFRAIN

They feast on the riches of your house;they drink from the stream of your delight. In you is the source of life, and in your light we see light. REFRAINKeep on loving those who know you, doing justice for upright hearts. REFRAIN

Second Reading 1 Corinthians 12:111 Robert Shields

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. Youknow that when you were pagans, you were enticed and led astray to idols that could not speak. Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says “LetJesus be cursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit.

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but thesame Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of themin everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. To one isgiven through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledgeaccording to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by theone Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment ofspirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these areactivated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spiritchooses.

Reader The Word of the Lord.People Thanks be to God.

All who are able, please stand and join in singing:Sequence Hymn 533 How wondrous and great thy works, God of praise Lyons

Deacon The Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to John.People Glory to you, Lord Christ.

Gospel John 2:111 Deacon Horace Whyte

On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine gave out, the motherof Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what concern is thatto you and to me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever hetells you.” Now standing there were six stone water jars for the Jewish rites of purification, eachholding twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to them, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filledthem up to the brim. He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the chief steward.” Sothey took it. When the steward tasted the water that had become wine, and did not know where itcame from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the steward called thebridegroom and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and then the inferior wineafter the guests have become drunk. But you have kept the good wine until now.” Jesus did this, the first of his signs, in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Sanctus LEVAS 255 A Mass for a Soulful People • Grayson Warren Brown (b. 1948)

The people may remain standing or kneel.Celebrant Glory and honor are yours, Creator of all, your Word has never been silent; you call

a people to yourself, as a light to the nations, you delivered them from bondage andled them to a land of promise. Of your grace, you gave Jesus to be human, to shareour life, to proclaim the coming of your holy reign and give himself for us, afragrant offering.

Through Jesus Christ our Redeemer, you have freed us from sin, brought us intoyour life, reconciled us to you, and restored us to the glory you intend for us.

We thank you that on the night before he died for us Jesus took bread, and when hehad given thanks to you, he broke it, gave to his friends and said: “Take, eat, this ismy Body, broken for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.”

After supper Jesus took the cup of wine, said the blessing, gave it to his friends andsaid: “Drink this, all of you: this cup is the new Covenant in my Blood, poured outfor you and for all for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.”

And so, remembering all that was done for us: the cross, the tomb, the resurrectionand ascension, longing for Christ’s coming in glory, and presenting to you these giftsyour earth has formed and human hands have made, we acclaim you, O Christ:

All Dying, you destroyed our death. Rising, you restored our life. Christ Jesus, come in glory!
