TREACHERY
By Pierre Sur-coraislamy Scrivener to the Court of the Duc de Rheged .
The Death of an Emperor
Noble Readers I bring you lamentations and dire tidings.
Emperor Maximillian Von Wittelsbach III lays slain! Some
tile traitor slew the most noble Emperor some time in the night
of the 25th day of Winterfyllth. The Empire of Barrowstown
was plunged into Chaos. But it would seem that the young
Leopold acted swiftly. Despatching his personal household
guard the famed Graythwaite Greatswords to bolster the
beleaguered Furness Guard. Leopold quickly secured the
Imperial Palace and the majority of the Electors who were
there for the annual festival of Beiltaan. After a very short
council meeting the young count emerged as the Emperor Elect.
He must now wait the customary 51 weeks of mourning before
his official coronation by Grand Theogonist Helmut
Eingrimm. Rumours abound as to how this change of
leadership will affect the Empire, alredy Leopold has replaced
many of his uncles most trusted advisors, replacing them with
younger and more hot headed nobles. The Duc De Rheged is
known to have sent his condolences as are many other notables.

The Empire at War
The Great Game
By Pierre Sur-coraislamy Scrivener to the Court of the Duc de Rheged.
A treatise on the movements of the armies
of Rheged.
The Minions of Chaos
It would seem that the blood spilt by the Chaos hordes has
been rewarded, the perverted and debauched citizenry living
within that chaotic waste land raised an extra tribute of
slaves and other odious trinkets which granted theBlood
Lord a much needed reprieve. Their Embassy to the ancient
fortress of Ashrot seemed to be well received although it is
hard to know as it is an enigma as to who now resides
within this decaying fortress and it’s unkempt lands. The
additional slaves provided in their special tribute were put to
good use restoring the lands in the valley of Eden, although
“restoring” is not the right word to describe the vile
desecrations and abominations carried out by these
miserable wretches.
Rumours abound that the Blood Lord has been eagerly
recruiting crazed men to join his throng, whether they are
misguided individuals from throughout Rheged or crazed
northerners from the old world brought here by some
infernal means we know not.
The Noble Armies of Caer Curwen
The winter months have been good to the Noble Duc de
Rheged. His merchants thrived in the preceding summer
months and granted him a welcome boost in taxation
income. His Embassy to the Realm of Cardurnock met with
a warm response although the Grand Count was unwilling
to enter into any kind of alliance. Little is known of the
success of the Embassy to the ancient realm of Tzacoatl
athough it would seem that the Duc is pleased with the
outcome. The Duc has also ordered the building of two new
bridges across the Deer Whent and the Ellen close to the
border with the Gobiln realm of Cald Beck. There has been
a significant drive to recruit new forces for the next
campaign season and much baggage has been purchased
suggesting that the Glorious forces of Caer Curwen may
finally be preparing to tackle the evil things lurking in the
land.
The Throng of Karak Jhaz
Having ended the Campaign season in a strong position
The Dwarfs of karak Jhaz were rocked by the un-characteristic rebellion of the fortress of Mingol Khazad.
The Dwarfs successfully recovered the fortress after some
intense diplomacy. The Dwarfs also entered into a full
alliance with the Empire of Barrowstown and in honour of
this alliance the Emperor Maximillian in one of his last acts
as Emperor sent a small detachment of Imperial troops to
fight alongside their Dwarven Allies. In a moment of
glorious philanthropy High King Grimli Lunsson has
ordered the construction of an impressive Temple to
Grungni
The Glorious Hosts of Tor Sarior
It is with great joy that we can report that the most serene
Prince Golwaen of Tor Sarior survive the massacre at
Ulpha Fell with little more than superficial injuries.
However it is with deep regret that we must inform you that
the noble Mage Athlorarare succumbed to his wounds. The
Army that had taken the field at Ulpha Fell was sorely
depleted by the battle which was a severe blow to the Elves.
To make matters worse for the beleaguered Elves they
suffered numerous raids along their northern border which
deprived them of some much needed income. The ElvesAmbassadors to the Independent realm of Oaxaca were
well received although the Lizardmen made no firm
promises. Not wishing to be outdone by his diminutive
rival Prince Golnwaen has ordered the construction of a
sublime Temple to the Goddess Isha to be constructed in
Dunnerdale.

The Empire of Barrowstown
With the Emperor dead the Empire has had a tragic end to a
troubled year. However Leopold has spared no time and has
raised a mighty army ready to further the Empire’s interests in
the coming year. Although our reporters have been unable to find
out detail information as to the composition of these forces it is
likely that we will soon find out.
The Crooked Nose Tribe
It would seem that Snazzgit Stunty Stompa has finally decided
to react to the threats to his borders and he has left his literary
pursuits behind him for the time being. He has mustered an
impressive force with which to protect his borders and no doubt
bring trouble to neighbouring realms
The Eternal Realm of Tzacoatl
“The Slaan Mage Priests have awoken and realised that their
enchantments have failed. Their Eternal Continent is now beset
by Humans, Dwarfs Elves and worse much, much worse they
have alerted their Legions and reopened the spawning pools.
Now the Hosts of Tzacoatl march forth to war and none shall
stand in their way” (proclamation by Ai Tich Hoo, Supreme
prophet and speaker to spirits, spokes skink for the Mage
council.)
Clan Skragskritt
With no information of this empire it is still our considered
opinion that these creatures do not exist!
