BE SAFE, BE RESPECTFUL, BE A LEARNER

We have had a wonderful week here at The Risk PS. Most school activities are back to normal, apart

from restrictions of parents/visitors being encouraged to come onsite only for essential reasons and we

cannot participate in activities off site. We look forward to reducing restrictions when we are permitted

to by the NSW Department of Education.

This week student parliament purchased two new garden beds and lots of seedlings. The produce from

the garden will be used in the fortnightly Friday Lunches. Students will be tending the gardens and

creating menus to incorporate the vegetables and herbs we grow. Students have planted broccoli, lettuce,

bok choy, parsley, chives, onions and cabbage. Our tomatoes are almost ripe and ready to use. This week

we will cook pasta carbonara. We will use parsley and shallots from the garden. Thank you to Lisa and

Mrs Petherbridge for sharing their love of gardening and knowledge with us. Lisa has been working with

Zanthe to make sure our seedlings have the best start they can.

Next term, we welcome parents and friends to volunteer in the

school to assist students and teachers with cooking and the gardens.

An information session will be organised once adults are permitted

back on site.

I would like to welcome Leila Grey to The Risk PS. Leila will be

working Tuesday to Friday each week for six weeks. Leila is a highly

experienced English teacher and we are thrilled to

have her helping out in the classrooms.

Have a great week,

Lisa

Creative Kids vouchers are available at: https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/campaign/creative-kids

Please complete the expression of interest form below and return as soon as possible, if you are

interested in private lessons for your child.

PBL focus:

Each week we encourage students to

think about one aspect of school life.

This week we are focusing on what we can

do to be safe and respectful learners in

the eating area of the school.

We would like to thank our families for

providing healthy options for children,

including a sandwich and fruit each day.

Good nutrition is so important for their

learning.
